I thought OcUK only really stocked good quality products.........

The OcUK swift power supply is sourced and built from high quality components making these reliable power supplies for anyone who is building a home or office computer

I for one like ocuk introducing these cheaper yet nicer cases and decent p/s, theres many system builders out there that just need cheap parts.

This is why I posted here few days ago what p/s for a quadcore pc, people only suggesting a corsair 400watter for 40 quid its cheap... well not cheap enough for some ;) Now I can buy a case+p/s for the same price....

I feel ocuk made a step in the right direction but there still playing catch up and way behind, there are way too many etailers out there catering the needs to system builders and offering over 50+ different p/s and 100+ cases ranging from £8-12.

Ocuk maybe quality, but theres plenty cheap quality stuff out there ;)

I think they should only really sell the 650W one, can't really see the 450w one being true.

It amazes me how they can send something so chunky from China to your home via ocuk free post still make money with something that costs £14 and weighs that much.

Intel ATX spec requires 70% so they'll probably conform to that.

Not a lot of info on 'Swift' PSUs, maybe they are rebadged or something.

It's strange that most of the range of PSUs sold on OCUK don't have much information on rail amperages and other important specifications.

OcUK can I first of all say thank you! :)

The recent additions of lower-end cheaper CPUs, budget cases and PSU's is great for people like me who build PC's small time for customers.

Are they Winpower units? Be good if they are as I've used them with great sucess and those asking why a 750W well because that 750W is fine with an I5 750 processor and a decentish spec PC for office/work use.

Good to see OcUK catering for all customers and picking the better of the cheaper PSU's on the market. :)

Instead of buying a cheapo, get a low wattage quality unit, the price difference isn't that much. An i5 rig for work usage with a low end graphics will not exceed 200-250W load, a 400W OCZ StealthxStream (best unit of the SXS range) or a CX400W, An Antec EA430 or a Season s12ii-330/380W will be fine and will also be of much better quality.

An I5 750 with an ATI 5770, I believe uses beyond 250W load when in use, plus the 2x hard drives, 2x optical drives. Thing is I am happy to use these power supplies, I've built well over 100 PC's with them, know of people building a lot more with them and they don't have issues with the units.

A lot of system builders out there preferre to sell a PC with a higher wattage PSU for marketing and for those people these units are preferred a lot more by them and the fact I myself and others have had no reliability issues I shall carry on using them except now I shall purchase from OcUK.

So once again thanks ocuk as now I can buy all my kit from here. :)

An i5 750 with 5770, 2 HDDs, 2 ODD and 2 sticks of RAM at 90% with 3 fans pulls 278W and the recommended is 328W so he is right about getting a higher quality lower wattage PSU and when will you ever use an office/home PC at that load anyway?

Like the man says, 750W has got to be good for marketing purposes, the sort of people who will buy systems from these small-time builders likely won't know the difference between this and an Antec, all they know is that 750W is better than 400W.

Because less knowledgeable people will eventually end up buying one of them to power their high end rig and it will end up in flames.

true, but even a first time builder won't go for the dearest gfx, cpu & mobo then go for the cheapest psu.

even a novice would think "there must be a reason why this is so cheap". i spent 90 quid on my first power supply yet i mismatched the ram, motherboard and processor.

Spot on, there is nothing wrong with cheap when its reliable which these are. :)

You got it in one. WinPower is the brand :)

At the end of the day, these are ideal if you are on a low budget and want to build your first home PC. We are looking at getting more low value budget products in all catergories, thus enabling you to build a very cheap PC, then at least you have the computer. You can then start upgrading components bit at a time if you don't have the money for a full medium/high end machine.

Well to me they look decent i mean for a simple office/internet pc they will work great! There cheap most likely reliable otherwise OCUK wouldnt have bothered stocking them!!

The PSUs are great value and reliable too. We looked into this in detail as we knew it was a departure for us. Return rates are comparable to high end brands.
