Ok I got a cracking deal on a Samsung galaxy s.... The blackberry 9000 will be gone by Tuesday...

Sad day ?

What am I gonna miss do you think... I love the keyboard on the berry but then camera is prwtty naff.... Video same... Browsing is not bad but small screen... When I think about it will I really miss it that much?

Galaxy s is free and line rental is next to nothing so will sell it if its not to my taste I guess.

LOL the old saying goes once you go blackberry you dont go back:p

But it depends really...the galaxy S is a nice hadnset although when i had a play with one i found it a bit too big for my liking in all honesty. I had the Desire but ended up selling it after about a week because i couldnt let my 9700 BB go...even though its a smaller screen..web browsing isnt too great...i still couldnt ditch it as it just worked i suppose...well for me that is. Mind you the 9000 Bold is a bit old now...the 9700 is much better and faster due to the 256mb of ram and the new trackpad for navigation.

I guess it really depends on how much or how you use your BB...one thing is for certain a lot of people that have ditched the BB always say the thing they miss the most is the keyboard and the messaging system.

For me i havent ditched BB although when it comes to non business stuff it kinda lacks in that dept so to scratch that itch...im getting the iphone4 which will mean i have the best of both worlds...BB for my day to day serious stuff and the iphone4 as my little multimedia toy.

I'm the same, the 9700 is a fantastic little handset that looks good and works so well, plus the battery is insane compared with the touchscreen rubbish :p

Sometime I wish I had another phone for multimedia stuff, but then I just think that if I want to listen to music I have my ipod, and I never want to watch films whilst on the move (I value my battery too much :p)

well I did order the phone from Tmobile over the phone... so distance selling comes into affect no ?

worst case I sell the phone and get a 9700... just a pity theres not another Blackberry right now..... I hate my wifes Iphone 3g - as in silly things (before software update) cut and paste.... sends small picture messages (we have a little boy - nice to get a picture at work!) ... so looking forward to seeing him on the big screen....... apps.... maybe theres something useful with Android - Blackberry stuff didnt have anything exciting.

Maybe once I get over the keyboard I may 'just` forget Blackberry..... for now.

Would like to get a case / screen protector for it soon as if you guys would like to point me in the right direction......

cheers.

.

Yes you can return it. You have 7 days to use/review/play with upgrades and then get an RMA code for the phone. I will probably get the BB 3G in a couple of weeks and then see if I can adapt to the keyboard, if not I shall return it and just stick with 30 day rolling contract.

Plenty of screen protectors about for the Galaxy i would imagine...tbh the only thing i missed from my Desire was the web browsing capabilities....other than that i dont regret a single minute that i sold my Desire...its a great phone but it just didnt hold my attention long enough tbqh.
Also s good as the touch screen was on it...i just couldnt see myself typing for long periods on it...definitely a major plus for the BB.

It will be interesting to see if the iphone4 holds my attention long enough for me to part from my BB 9700..if not then it will go up for sale as well.

But as Super said you have 7 days in which to decide whether to keep it or send it back.

I would say with all the options around for customising Android you wont 'miss' anything.

If you needed your Blackberry for something specific (like many businesses give them out to people for the email features etc), you would know about it, and wouldn't have got a Galaxy S.

I think you'll be impressed.

Well how am I finding the galaxy?
Well I think I made the right decision over the blackberry.

Screen is superb. Wifi works a treat.

Typing is not an issue.

Couple of things I miss the bb led! Would like to not have to unlock screen to see if theres a message.
Battery seems to be sapping pretty quickly but then I pretty much had to charge the bb every night. Gutted you don't get a leather holster like the bb but ordered one already.

For BIG screen and BB Keyboard, should have waited for the Bold 9800!..

It'll be out when my 9700 is ready for an upgrade!! :)

If im not mistaken when i had the Desire the app chompsms will show the message without having to unlock the phone.

ok im enjoying the phone to be honest ..... but cant seem to connect it to pc.

Installing Kies gives me 'exception has been thrown by the target.....' blah blah and dont open.

I had launcher pro installed - so I thought I could just drag and drop some files onto memory card.... hmmm no... connect the cable and phone says USB mode... in my computer nothing.... (this was after uninstalling launchpro because it said it was not in idle mode....)

any ideas ?
am runnning Windows 7 64bit.
wanna get some pictures and mp3 on it!
