The Official Tour de France 2010 Thread

Just watched Landis' stage 17 demolition of the pack in 2006. Despite all the crap Landis has done, that is still an utterly amazing ride to watch.

I know very little about cycling but for some odd reason I've loved watching the tour for the last few years. Totally missing not having Eurosport this year especially no HD :(

Oooh, Cadel's popped and is lumbering up the Madeleine like he's carrying a sack of potatoes. :D That yellow jersey is heavier than we thought.

Schleck and Conty are squaring off nicely. This stage is looking fun.

I'm in morzine just now :D
Had an awesome couple of days.
Saw schleck, contador et al flying past on the climb up to avoriaz on sunday.
Walked around the village on the rest day yesterday to see all the team busses and bikes being set up. Saw Dan LLoyd and got his autograph - seems like a good guy.
Got a spot right at the front today to see the riders going past to sign on. :D

We are staying for the week here in Morzine. Chosen because it's a finish, a rest day here then a start. So we can see a bit of everything without having to move.
Haha, i didnt want to clutter up the thread, i have literally taken about 300 photos :p
Here's a couple of the best:
Mum with Dan Lloyd.

Mark Cavendish going to sign on.

Well Renshaw getting disqualified was a shock, although having seen what he did...lol.

I'm getting thoroughly frustrated with ITV4s coverage of this. Poor cuts to adverts seemingly every five minutes.

STAGE 14 - Revel Ax 3 Domaines 184.5 km

At last the first real climbs in the Pyrenees, the fun will really start today.

Lance is only 32nd? Time for him to hang up his helmet?
He said before the tour that this would be his last one.
He has had some terrible luck this year, (3 crashes on one stage !!) although I don't think he is strong enough to make a podium despite those incidents.
He is certainly not strong enough to stay the with likes of Contador and Shleck, let alone attck them.
I sincerely hope he makes it to Paris.

I suspect Lance will be back next year in some of sort team management role, maybe even with his own team (LIVESTRONG ??).

Lance had 2 torrid days at the start with falls and punctures then on the first of the real challenging climbs he came off his bike 3 times in one day and finished 11 minutes down. I think that once his general classification was shot to bits he decided for a quiet life and just see the tour through.

Still it's been an eventful tour and here's hoping for some good attacks in the mountains because without a decent buffer Schleck will lose to Contador on the time trial.

That was something a bit different. Conty and Andy thinking they were at a velodrome rather than half way up a mountain. I'm firmly an Andy Schleck fan now. :p:D

I think it's one of the great sporting spectacles when the camera's catch one of the 'big men' in le Tour grit their teeth and launch an attack. It always gets the heart pumping a little bit faster.
