Help I'm locked in my car!

On a serious note though I locked the doors to my E46 and my friend could not get out. When you deadlock the doors it seems you can't override that from inside? Is that a fault with my car or do all E46 cars do that?

The mondeo does the same, had a right laugh with my gf.

I thought it would be funny to alarm the car whilst she was inside and run into the house...half an hour later she still didnt emerge so I went outside to find she was infact locked in. She was not happy!

That's sort of the point of deadlocks, that you cant open the doors from inside :confused:

I was going to say, that is the entire point in deadlocking :confused:

It's designed so if somebody breaks a window they cannot then open the door.

i guess the key thing here is (sorry!) to always give someone else fairly nearby control of your spare key and make sure you keep a mobile phone on you!

If a cars deadlocked and someone's inside could you not release the boot (if you have a button for it in the car) and climb out of the boot or does the deadlock affect the boot aswell?

I'm sort of sure that in my Accord the boot is also deadlocked and can't be opened from the inside.
