Medal of Honor, on the fence!

Indeed. And there are at least eight games coming out between Sept and Nov which I am considering buying or will definitely buy on release - that adds up to a fair few quid.

If this game ends up say having a five hour SP campaign then I doubt I'd pay £25 for that, I'd wait till it's a bit cheaper. Not because I don't have £25, but because I'd consider that too much for too little.

The Beta is 'meh', I will wait till its out for a bit and the price drops and go by peoples reviews.

To some people that's a lot of money for a game that may not particularly satisfy their wants in a game.

If it was 30 quid for a cake then I would agree that its a lot of money but its a game that you could potencially play for hundreds of hours. I hate MW2 but i have around 60 hours on it. Thats 50p per hour and thats a bargain, even if the game is poor.

If I bought a game like this and it had a meh MP, I wouldn't bother playing the MP at all. Why play this when we are blessed with alternatives like BC2 or even COD4. We are spoilt for choice nowadays so there is no need to put up with mediocrity, much less pay full price for it upon its release :)

(not saying this game IS mediocre yet as it's too early to say for sure)

I dont get this 'to buy or not to buy' nonsense. It will be 30 quid maximum for a hard copy and for that price you will get a playable single player and a decent but not perfect multiplayer. 30 quid is nothing for a game like this.

what so we should just buy every game out there regardless of if its trully worth a purchase or if weve seen it all before? how does that make sense?

as people have said you must have holes in your pockets or something as most people arent made of money and are selective in what is worth a purchase.

my monthly budget is £40 which includes games/blurays - what with starcraft 2 coming out id rather spend my hard earned cash on that then some second rate fps that weve all seen before.

yes i could spend more money if i so choose, but theres much better things out there for that then video games.

Not everyone will sink 60 hours of their time into a game they don't even like though. I'm only prepared to pay for something if i'm going to like it, I don't have any intention of wasting money or time on things I don't actually like.

It might only be thirty quid but nobody got rich by wasting money, however little ;)

i think you will find farcry 2 was the worst game of the decade

I strongly disagree, there have been plenty of disasters and let downs in the past decade, like Unreal Tournament 3. :p

However I would rather we didn't derail this thread into "Worst game of the decade!" :)

worst game of the year?

Most over-hyped game of the year I'd say.

I wouldnt say it was 'bad' per se. Graphics were pretty good, some amazing large-scale scenery, superb weapon choice, vehicles to drive, pretty stable game overall it seemed, combat mechanics worked fairly well. Gun jamming / wear was a blessing and a curse. Was nice to see, but done wrong.

Driving between respawning checkpoints was a monumental bore, yet any other system would potentially have made the game very short. The whole thing felt like it had been a massive map and guns exercise, with a shoddy game slapped in at the last second.

Anyway, sorry for the derail, MOH - I'm waiting on the fence. The last MOH was too short and fairly poor, this one isnt shaping up to be that good either.

And as for game reviews, after FC2 got 94% despite the above (unmentioned) flaws, I'd rather trust some random gamer on the forum than any computer mag or website.
