I get around 5 or 6 days battery from my mini.

I can post the link to the debranding guide if needed?

I take it debranding would allow update to UK latest update via SEUS?

If so linky be nice for X10i :p

Most I've managed out of mine is 16-20hrs even with all data connections disabled, 30mins of calls and manually updating weather a couple times a day. :(

I bought mine sim free from CPW. :D

However, I turn the data off when I am not using it. As if I leave the data enabled it normally lasts about a day or two.

I bought mine sim free from Phones 4U....but still don't get that good battery life :(

Is there a link where I can test the different software?

What firmware is it running at the moment?

Also what is the CDA/CFA number, its located under the battery starting

Example: SI 1236-8824 etc..

Could you explain what the advantages and disadvantages of de-branding are? and can you resort the phone back to its original state?

debranding it basically means removing your mobile networks added crap. It'll often free up some spare memory / storage on your phone for more things you want to put onto it rather than put up with o2 / 3 / tmob / voda etc apps or information.

I've done it with a couple of my S60 nokias but have read if you make a mess of it then your phone will have to go back to manufacturer to get sorted ;)

Not sure if i trust myself to do it  but the mini came with a fair bit of crap on it that i would like to get rid of, so if you debrand does it wipe it all off or allow you to delete stuff that you currently can't?

its relatively straightforward (well it was for my nokia) just needed to get a new product code (forget which prog i used now) then once i got that then it was a case of downloading and installing the new firmware through pc suite.

you cant select which parts to keep and which to remove as it will replace your networks branded firmware with the generic version.

Under the phone info it says....
Model: E10i
Firmware : 1.6
Kernel Version :2.6.29 , SEMCUser@SEMCHost #1
Build Number: 1.0.A.1.36

The CDA/CFA number is :SI 1236 - 8827

Hoping this is the thread for the X10 Mini or Mini Pro too - hoping to get one or the other as a going out phone - any bad points so far (compared to other android phones and the X10 phat?) and which is better out of the two? The keyboard feature I think would be really useful...

How much are they going for SIM-free?

ps3ud0

Cool gonna do a bit more reading on it :)

This is really doing my nut in now, have failed it 12 times via SEUS and when I tried pc companion way it overwrites the larger file each time as well..:(

Doesn't work for the mini either, even if you copy the files over and it does install which is rare as it usually fails all the crap remains on and the phone does not appear to be de-branded!

Trying Omnius now, and that's failing too lol

Mine's finally sorted, used omnius to put UK generic firmware on (16), then used SEUS to update to latest uk generic (20).

So has any one tried the ROM yet? Just had a look in a thread over at XDA and it appeared to be lots of devs talking in gobbledegook :o.
