Toshiba laptop win7 reinstall dilemma

I have recently got a nice toshiba laptop on the cheap, and it had a duff hard drive. Ive fitted a new one and of course would like to run the windows7 pro it has the license for on the bottom.

I have tried entering the key on the bottom into an install using the windows7 pro ISO from digital river ( best legit place to download a clean ISO ) and of course it wont activate. It just say this key in invalid for activation and doesnt even give you the option to phone up the automated thing.

After some reading ive come to think that the key on the bottom is only for use with a toshiba branded OEM install disc. Of course i cant find one of these anywhere, and eventually found the section on tosh's website where for a mere £45 they will send me new ones!

Is there any way round paying this, i just want to use the license i already have, the key is legitimate it seems i just need the correct OEM install media or something :o

Im thinking that i can integrate the ISO i have with the toshiba SLIC 2.1 folder and then it will auto activate as my BIOS supports the SLIC2.1..... the problem being i cant find the toshiba oem folder files anywhere

( i have tried the anytime upgrade option inside windows using that key just as a wild shot and it failed also )

Do any of your mates or work colleagues have a recent Toshiba laptop + discs?

Checked eBay for the discs?

Tried a generic OEM iso?

Yes it is a pro key and i tried a pro disc ( retail iso ) and an ultimate ISO ( that supposedly has all versions on it ) and no go.

I cant seem to find a non torrented OEM ISO however, as clearly they dont want you to download one from digital river or whatever.

Looks like i will have to source some toshiba discs from somewhere!

The search for the toshiba OEM files to integrate into a normal ISO has turned up nothing also... just dead links and removed links.

Your copy of Windows 7 does not have a SLIC 2.1 in it to match the SLIC 2.1 in your bios. This Tosh SLIC 2.1 must be added - which is very simple to do.

I know thats what im trying to do... cant find it anywhere though. Every place i think i find it the link is either dead or removed.

Thanks to marmalade im now up and running with a toshiba branded OEM pro install fully activated :p

Thanks!

Cant really as the sites where the stuff is, are considered dodgy and i cant link to them.

What i did was create an OEM disk by doing what was discussed above, the hard bit was finding the toshiba OEM files... which like i say was on a site that also deals with piracy and hacking !

As i have the SLIC 2.1 in my BIOS and the laptop had a valid license on the bottom the activation was fine once i had a disk using the toshiba OEM install files/certificates.

Where it becomes piracy is when you modify your BIOS to make windows think you have the SLIC 2.1 compliance and fool it into thinking your machine is a valid OEM one thats fine for activation. The sites with the files also discuss this in detail so i cant link of course.
