People pay for an Impreza 'experience'? Why not just book a test drive at your local dealer for free!?

the 6th gear days use the impreza as a warm up car before moving onto something else.

Same for all cars, so you get 1 warm up lap in the impreza followed by 3-4 laps in the car of your choice. A 997 turbo in this case which costs £99

afaik theres no rev limits on the elvington airfield days as they are fairly relaxed. Mate of mine went on one and said they were cool because theres such huge run off areas at elvington (being an airfield at all) completely different to a track like cadwell park where there is sometimes none at all !

It might not have been an experience, just MrLOL being facetious :p

it almost certainly is, the 997 day at 6th gear is the cheapest they do @ £99 and as already mentions includes a warm up lap in an impreza sti as with all their experiences

Its co-owned by simon george of Evo fame who has the Yellow Lambo Murcielago with 160,0000 miles. If you choose the DBS or LP640 day, you get to drive the other respective cars he contributes columns about for evo :)

I did one of these a few weeks back, drove the Ferrari 360 which wasn't bad but not as impressive as I'd hoped. It had the flappy paddle gearbox which was pretty poor compared to the Audi TT version. The guy I was with let me give it a good thrashing though which I was quite pleased about.

For the price I didn't think it was bad value, would definitely recommend doing it if you'd like to experience a supercar.

You're right yeah 6th Gear @ Elvington.

Not at all restricted like you would imagine. The day involved a lap tour in a supercharged Range Rover (suprisingly quick!!), 4 laps in the Impreza then 4 in the 911, and then finally the instructor takes you round for a demo lap.

I found the Impreza pretty damn impressive although it took a while to get used to the very short gear shift and it also squealed a hell of a lot compared to the Porsche. The noise it makes in one word is brutal, one of the loudest cars there and it was stock STI spec. In the demo lap it pulled some pretty mind bending g force too.. I think it helped he was racing his mate in an LP640. :D

The Porsche was then another couple of levels up. So much grip and precision. I know the 911 is praised a lot here and it was easy to see why, you could really see where the extra money went as soon as you step into it and the power is something everyone needs to experience!!

Think it came to around £200 including a video of it all on a memory stick.

Final thoughts lie with finding £90k from somewhere for a 911 :D
