Right, I've had my Cupra 4 for 2 years now and I've spent a grand total of € 7500 on it, excluding fuel and insurance.
However, around € 2000 is servicing and tyres.
That leaves almost five thousand on repairs, however I had to do some things in Norway (like spend £500 on a new outer CV joint..)
It had a big service this summer and it'll need new winter tyres after this season should I choose to buy more, which means that now would be a good time to sell.
I really don't want to plow any more money into this thing as I know the turbo will blow up eventually and I can't be arsed with that, nor anything else expensive such as a new clutch, etc..
It's coming up to 150,000 km which isn't a lot, but it means that I can advertise it under the 150,000 km barrier which means more people would potentially see it.
IMO once it goes above I won't be able to get as much for it.
The paintwork is stone chipped and scratched to buggery, and rust is starting to bubble in two places, as well as some things not working (AC, my bum warmer).
Would it make sense to keep it for much longer?
It's mechanically sound, uses no oil and I've had no problems from the engine block as such.
I'd like a change, and I'm starting a 40 mile return motorway commute next month which means minimal town driving, unlike now.
A nice petrol would be aural pleasure after this tractor engine..
As for replacement cars, I can't think of much that'll cost less to run than this
