ive not really payed much attention to drivers since 10.3
has there been any better offerings since 10.3 ? for xfire setup

10.5 last stable drivers for me.

10.6 broke stuff.

10.7 should be out soon....

I haven't had any issues with 10.4's so I went back to these after a brief try with 10.6's. Probably will have a go with the 10.7's when they get here.

10.6 makes me artifact on more games than the 10.5 (which made me artifact in the first place)

10.4a were pretty good for crossfire. Currently running 10.6 which do have a few problems and games seem to crash a lot with this set.

i'm using 10.5 drivers (as above too many artifacts in 10.6) with 10.6 control centre (fixes a bug with saving profiles).

seems to be working fine.

If your using crossfire the 10.5 hotfix are the best bet, lots had problems with the 10.6's with crossfire. 10.7 should be out int he next week or so.

21st or 23d most likely 21st, saw somewhere legit cat. 1.7 coming out.

For some strange reason people have problem with 1.6 I never had problems with any cat. drivers but I run a very strict procedure of deleting the previous version with driver sweeper ccleaner, booting in safe mode and then final "human" check for any traces left.

I've never had any problems from a 4850, 4890 to my present GPU 5870 > 10.6 cats.

no, as i'm running 5970+5870, 10.5 WHQL are fine, as in 10.4, 10.3 etc.

hotfix is only required for the games they're associated with (BF:BC2 for example)

5970 uses crossfire, the bridge is on the board rather than using the ribbon.

10.6 been great for me on my 5970, gave me healthy increase in performance in vantage, no issues with the games i play (have BC2 but don't play it so can't comment on that side, but most people recommend 10.5 or below for that game)

Looking forward to 10.7
