Gallardo Balboni gone, replaced with....

The GT3 always seems to get much better press though, somehow despite being slower most reviews suggest that the GT3 is more fun to drive as the power delivery of the Turbo can make things a bit hair-raising...always surprised me a little, this perception of the GT3 being better than the GT2, even when reviewed by very competent and quick drivers who should have few issues handling the extra power and turbocharged power delivery? I feel I must add that I have driven neither...!

I've driven the 6 GT2 and 7 GT2 though not the RS. The GT3's engine and throttle response is what adds to the game, together with a sharper set up. I believe the RS is very special but the GT3 with it's simply epic NA engine is very very special.....which is why once you've had one like I have you are ALWAYS in between GT3's when you no longer have one!

What made you get rid of yours?

Dont think its his but his dads??...the OP lives out in Florida if im not mistaken.

From his previous thread wasn't he an airline pilot and now retraining as a doctor? I believe some are his and some are his fathers, the F430 was his I think.

It's worrying how much you remember about people from these threads...

The Lambo is almost understated compared to the Porsche. Never thought I'd see the day

I preferred the Lambo but they're clearly both amazing machines. Enjoy

...though the term 'fail' is of course relative, please tell me the ceramic brakes are in a box in the garage. In Porsche terms, a Gen 2 997 RS without ceramics is fail.

Yes don't worry, the ceramics are put away nice and safe. We've had horrible luck with the PCCB's on both our GT3's and GT2's in the past, cracking within 1500 miles of use. When it goes on the track, the PCCB's will go on, otherwise, for street driving, it's just not worth it.

It should be called the Gallardo Balboner

Love it! Yes it was a very sexy car, amazing noise too but funnily enough, the Balboni was harder sprung and more jarring than the RS.

Radiology must pay incredibly well! :p

When you spend $250k to put yourself through med school and then have to intern for 4 years, I'd really hope there is some sort of payoff :p You don't want some random uneducated person giving you radiation therapy or performing surgery do you?!

Prefer the Lambo personally, but congrats regardless. Are you by chance considering the new Merc SLS? Its really my car of the moment and I think I'd take it over almost anything right now!

Me too, little bit obsessed with the SLS right now. Did you see David Coulthard driving it? I just read their doing a competition to drive the SLS at Hockenheim:), retty awesome! http://www.facebook.com/mercedesbenzsls
