Hey guys,
I'm back with yet another PSU predicament, been bothering you last week about the Antec Basiq 550 vs Coolermaster GX550 but gave up on that to get Antec for £50, only to find theyre out of stock on OCuk 'we'll have some in by the end of the week' and the week has gone and now today the same 'have some in by the end of the week' so this is a fortnight i'm waiting to get my 9800GTX+ and my new build up and running,

what's the best PSU on OCuk for under £60? I want 80plus, I want modular but dont really need dual rail cos im not SLIing or OC'ing.

how about OCZ ModXStream Pro 500W?

or then there's OCZ StealthXStream 2 500w

I need 26A to run my 9800GTX+ apparently.

I'm planning on picking one up today but I can only afford less than £60.

Should I just wait for the Antec?
None of the OCZ seem to have enough Amps on the 12V rails.

Cheers

But they have the Antec Basiq 550w on another components shop site for DONT LIST COMPETITER PRICES with a free Vapochill 90mm fan so if OCUK don't hurry up getting the old Antec in stock I'll shop there instead.

Haha i didnt mean immediately. I just wanna get this rig up and running this week and although i like OCUK if i wait i can see it being my luck its another week before they get one in.

Go with an OCZ ModXStream, it's modular and 80+, the 500w is in your budget and the 600w is just a little over.

I would go for the CX400 to the honest, you're only using a 9800GTX+ so depending on your CPU/other components you're using less than 350w full load. The OCZ ModxStream is just average at best. I'd get the CX400 over the Modxstream 500w, but I'd get the 600w Modxstream over the CX400.

K guys thanks so much, will have another think before parting with my cash.
The 400W would be fine now for my system but i'm planning on 3GB RAM and a Phenom 955 or 65 upgrade this year too, hence why i thought 550W would be best, I would probably OC the phenom a bit too like OCuk do as standard.

+1, the CX400 has been shown in some tests to put out more than it is rated for and be closer to 450w, however you do loose out on it being modular.
