ok 'tis the gf's 21st and we want to go to Stratford (it holds special memories for us etc)

Anyone know any really nice hotels, money wont be much of a prob (currently looking around 100-200) one night 17th sept. Just looking for somewhere classy and a bit special.

everything we've looked at has some pretty bad reviews, qhotels (both the stratford and the manor) get some bad reviews, and everything else seems very.... "old" (i know its Stratford but some look like they haven't seen a decor change since Shakespeare lived there!)

I'm sorry that I don't know any good hotels, but I would suggest taking your girlfriend to a restaurant called Lambs. Me and my girlfriend go there every year for three years running so far, for her birthday. The food there is really good! It's 12 Sheep Street and the telephone number is: 01789 292554.

as for hotels, I really don't know any good ones, but I remember t he Best Western one was ok. There are lots of nice bed and breakfasts that I would think are nicer than the hotels though!

Hope this helps.

I live in stratford, do you want old or modern then, in (walking distance) or out of town? What facilities?

modern ideally. walking dist would be a + but we have a car so (wanting to spend the sat in stratford)

gonna have to call up tomorrow, found a nice deal on the stratford but worried about the reviews i have read.. hm

heard of the legacy falcon?

Its ok, slap bang in the middle of town with parking. The one end of the hotel is old, the back is newer. Judging the the website it looks like its had a refurb. I think it'll do fine imo and almost round the corner to Lambs.

Few others to concider http://www.stratfordhotels.co.uk/

falcon is ticking all the boxes for the lady atm, although it says to call on the date we want. Nargh (some places you book through however show no rooms, some show rooms..)

argh! cheers for the help though!

update: The Stratford, "romantic break" package with a room upgrade. Roll on the good times :) Thanks everyone for the help though! I'll defo note down Lambs for the future, looks a superb place.

Woah, I always knew Anti was in Stratford, but for there to be someone else as well! Represent!

(Luddington Road here, just past the racecourse!)

The Falcon does look very nice, though as we live here we can't really comment on the rooms! As mentioned, its dead in the centre of stratford, so you will be having the City Sightseeing busses driving past all day. You're just a road away from the theatres as well, and opposite Nash's House, one of the Shakespeare buildings... though I'll be damned if I know what's actually special about it, its the only one I've not been to.

DERP! I live right next to the racecourse!

I think he is staying at The Stratford. A very wise choice.

falcon had no rooms unfortunatly, but im sure the lady will be pleased with a guaranteed 4 poster bed, room service, champers and chocs and a meal! (she better be. lol) and hopefully the weather holds out for the weekend for some sunning by the river

Holy! Where abouts? I must have cycled past your house a fair few times then! :D

Edit: Psypher, where abouts have you gone instead?
Edit2: Learned to Read!

The Stratford's a mega fancy hotel! Right next to the hospital though, but should be far back enough from the road to dull out any sirens. Ditto the fact that its opposite one of the larger clubs in the town (Which is still small). Enjoy your stay, should be great!

Although I doubt they will make it out of the room. ;)
