Y'aight!
It's akin to being griped by the way someone holds a pen or a screw driver!
Don't say things like that! I can see it now...
"Peasant doesn't hold his pen correctly, It's absolute disgrace!"
.."you alright?" (making it sound like "yourrite") or even "Alright?" instead of "Hello" or "Good Afternoon" or even just "Hi". I was in Sainsbury's today and this girl said " You alright?"with no smile on her face. Common as muck
. It's a petty point I know, but why don't these places train their staff to speak a little more professionally instead of these girls sounding like they think you're their mate from down the road. Is it really that difficult to say "Hello" or do these chavy girls get embarrassed to speak proper english

Yes, well, I was there, and by the tone of the way she said it, it was not an enquiry to my health or mental state, so don't tell me what you think she was implying. Saying 'arrrright?' is just crap imo. I was taught to say hello to people. It's REALLY easy. It's people like you and many others in this thread that don't care how others speak which is why the english language is going downhill fast.
Yeah, today we have the British Slanguage.
Innit, nah wot ah meen laaike, basically, end of the day, you know, safe, arrite, you're joking me, big it up, Yo, Sup, wha chew trippin foo..
Excellent evolution![]()
Maybe you should try saying it about 800 times a day to people who about 90% of the time either don't care or are just rude to you in return. A week of that would reduce even the most well mannered to "arrrright".
a lot of that is accent and pronunciation. You're a language racist.![]()

Yes, because arrrrright is so much easier as it has so many fewer syllables than hello.
I unashamedly am, yes![]()
You have to ask yourself then why some of these people work for supermarkets if it's so goddamn boring. Probably because they can't command the english language well enough to get any other job.
What a pure ******, what job do you do with you're magnificent command of the English language out of curiosity?

"I, good sir, wrote the Dictionary."
