Mobile phone signal boosting

Do you think this would give reason enough to break contract? This is frustrating me no end and O2 have offered no solution to a problem which is clearly theirs!

What phone are you using?

The Vodafone Sure Signal is just excellent.
As said above, plugs into your broadband line.
Means I have a full bar HSDPA signal all around my house all of the time.

Only use it for voice & text as internet is cheaper to simply use my wi-fi.

But it's for Vodafone only.
This. It's a very good piece of kit for £50. I would have been willing to pay say £10 less for one with dimmer LEDS that don't keep me awake at night mind.:p

Probably not. They might argue that you should have checked out the reception in your area, and wherever you might go, on their website before taking out a contract. They might let you cancel the contract by giving a month's notice but I doubt seriously they'd cancel it for you by admitting fault for network reception problems.

I could be wrong but I can't see o2 acting that way. :(

I have a similar problem. I have good signal Hspda in the street, but my bedroom is blocked by flats to one side, the rest of the house to the other and a bunch of trees. It causes a real problem, I get two bars, but often drop to no network.
The only solution I've seen is a gsm 1800 repeater, but there 250quid, so not an option.
I have seen a 30quid repeater that boosts a signal up to 6 feet, which would be handy for a small room, but I can only find it in amazon US.
I'm despairing a little as sometimes I leave my phone on the side, and it drops signal and no one can call me, allong with often having to move around the room to stop the voices breaking up.
Move to the front room and its fine.

I have heard that t-mobile are doing trials on femtocels, I might ring them and ask if I can be part of it.

I would hope so as this is what I'm wanting to do with O2 at the moment.

They offered to change the device to a white iPhone, but I have a black one... So I have to wait for the next batch of stock.

I'm so wanting to go back to Vodafone.

"Hi,

I am not happy with the coverage and service from O2. I have a number of problems with my iPhone with regards to calls and text messages. It appears that I am not alone in this issue and therefore would like to leave O2.

Regards,

Mr Scott"

See what they come back with - not a lot I expect, but at least I can make them aware. I won't be staying a minute longer than my contract if they force me down that route. Half tempted to trade in the iPhone via their recycle method to pay off the contract if I have to go down that route.

Think my next problem will be the Vodafone tarriff if I can leave. I'm after a shared minutes tariff, so I'm on a business tariff at the moment with O2. So myself and my other half share minutes, don't think Vodafone offer this for 2 people :(

I'm on Vodafone with an HTC Magic phone which is now showing its age. I'm thinking about paying up the rest of my contract up front to end my contract then start a new one with Vodafone to get the HTC Desire.

I want to stay with Vodafone as they're the only people with any kind of signal enhancer. I don't know how far along you are with o2 on your contract but you could see if you can pay it off?

How far into the contract are you? May have a look at the offcom site later

Same as me, got quoted £650 today to cancel. I said not, but made a point of stating how **** O2 are
Hmm Vodafone quoted me £296.11 on Wednesday or Thursday to pay off my current contract and start a new one. The £296.11 being how much I'll pay Vodafone between now and 11th May 2011. :D The £650 you've been quoted is muchos extortionate by comparison.

Well never mind and **** happens.

It's a business contract with two numbers sharing the pool of minutes, plus the iphone bplt on that O2 do.. Don't see Vodafone charging extra because it's an iPhone.

Other reason why I want to go back to Vodafone, british company
