Just to be clear (read the article and understand the implications) there is nothing wrong with Quidco - it's one of the many affiliate networks they use. Lot's of companies use multiple affiliate networks and so money you are "owed" from any on the list might still turn up.

still waiting for 70squids from quido for some insurance i bought.... that was almost 11 months ago..... dont care if it isnt their fault, bought in good faith through them, and now out of pocket.... the cashback was an important factor in my choice, since it wasnt the cheapest without.

feel royally cheated

How are you out of pocket? You bought and received a product for an advertised price. There is never any guarantee of cashback payout for many reasons. If you weren't happy with the advertised price (Regardless of cashback) you should have gone elsewhere.

That was a close call then, almost did some large cashback deals with a couple of those stores listed...

Knackers, I'm waiting for £150 back from Vodafone. :(

Or was waitng, perhaps I should say.

Never trusted this cashback scheme that companies offer, never will.

Why not? It is free money!

As has been said, treat it as a bonus and not as a reason for buying something and you're laughing.

I've made £260 back in a year on things I would have bought anyway.

Interestingly, in contrast to Quidco, Topcashback have decided to pay members out of their own pockets for any DGM transactions that they don't receive payment for (http://www.topcashback.co.uk/blog/cashback-industry-news)

I don't believe Quidco have released an official statment yet, even the money supermarket article only says 'it has been reported' not saying they will pay out but you could at least wait until they have gone to press.

Same here, they've owed me 150 since March! Saying that I don't think I've ever received a payment from quidco even though they've said they sent it.

That is a very unusual situation, I assume you have contacted them about it?

I have recieved nearly £500 from quidco over the last couple of years and in the one instance when something tracked but wasn't paid Quidco covered it out of their own pockets. Fortunately the money I'm waiting on at the minute doesn't look like it will be effected by this news.

The Quidco representatives on the MoneySavingExpert forums yesterday said they were waiting for more details from the affiliate network in question.

Meanwhile, Topcashback have said they'll honour all transactions out of their own pocket. The same Topcashback who don't charge a yearly referral fee for use of their services.

Why anyone continues to use Quidco is beyond me.

So you agree that Quidco have yet to make an official statment saying they won't pay yet you are still condeming them?

I use both Topcashback and Quidco I've risen abouve the petty one is better than the other debate, every year the £5 quidco fee has been more than covered by the increased cashback rate on offer for a single insurance or utilities change.

Why anyone would choose not to use the service that gets them the most money is beyond me!

Indeed I have. They just E-mail me saying that my bank details are incorrect. Which is aload of BS.

Why anyone continues to use Quidco is beyond me.

Cheers for the heads up. I've just checked out TopCashBack out and they even state that they would beat any deal any other cash back site offers... to go with that, they don't even charge an annual fee... It's safe to say who I'll be using from now on.

From a recent email they sent out to affected members, it doesn't look like they're planning to pay:

What does this mean for me?
As you have recently purchased from one or more of the merchants below we will not be able to pass on the cashback as we ourselves have not received, nor are we likely to receive payment from the DGM network.

I do appreciate that your transaction shows as received. Unfortunately this is due to an administrative error and your transaction should not have been updated. We have not received a payment from this retailer since December 2009 and we are therefore unable to pass this cashback onto you. Your transaction will revert to its previous validated status.'

Having said that, I still prefer Quidco over the others, and wont hesitate to keep using them.

U see, the way it was "advertised" was that cashback was to be expected.

How am I out of pocket.... 100 for insurance from company A. Same policy from Company B 130, but with 40 cashback. Decided to buy from company B, since with cashback, it would have been cheaper. But now that they have reneged on cashback, I've ended up paying 30 more than I otherwise would have.

Apart from getting cashback, i see no reason to buy through Quidco & other such sites. Do you?

It was advertised as being X with a possible Y cashback. Y was never guaranteed, you got the product for X...

Your insurance example is exactly the problem, you were stupid to do anything other than go for Company A.
