Black mark on new TFT monitor

Just got my new monitor but it has this weird black mark on the screen, I'm fairly certain it's not dead pixels since under a magnifying glass I can see the pixels are still working but there is a small dark patch around a few of them, the closer I get with the magnifying glass the less obvious the mark is.
On the other side of the screen there are a couple of dead pixels that are obviously dead since they are clearly defined under a magnifying glass.

If I angle the light correctly, I can see the mark when the monitor is turned off and it seems to be under the panel.
What do you guys think? I don't want to send it back then have the company say "dead pixel"

Thunderbug/Corn fly by the looks of things. There are other threads about this in the forum.

If it is dead then you are in trouble, my monitor has had one in there for over a year.

If it is new, you could try to RMA it.

I don't think it's a thunderfly since it was there from when I first turned it on straight out of the packaging and it's not moving.

Could just be dust or something else then. If it is there when the monitor is off then its solid matter of some kind.

Like I said, you could try RMAing it as it was there since purchase.
