Quick Heads Up: Panny P42G10B 42" plasma

I Know i Know, i was just being a Doughnut, i get you now, you were just testing me, i see that now, did i pass?

PS, the Mersey is a local river to myself and the OP

Moving into my new house in a couple of weeks and I plan on getting a Plasma. I was almost swayed towards LCD due to gaming and the burn issues with plasma but I decided I can't cope with the whole fakeness and cartoon look on the LCD's I've seen at friends houses.

So... is this TV good? I've decided on a Plasma and I've decided on a Panasonic.

I was going to get the Panasonic TX-P42X20 for £499 with a 5 year warranty - Is the G10 the better TV?

For some reason it totally passed me how good this TV was for the price. I rememeber looking at this the other week but with all these code names I didn't realise which one this was.

ORDERED!! :D

EDIT : Yep found the code just in time. Thanks OP :) :)

I remember a few months ago this tv getting recommended for around the £700 mark... When i saw the price on there i didnt even think twice about ordering :o

Yep, I was reading old review saying how much of a decent buy it was at £1000 when it was released. The fact that it has the ethernet port and freesat is what I'm looking forward to the most.... Hello BBC iPlayer!;)

does it have ethernet? I though that was just for updates etc.....there was talk of an update to the G10 to get iplayer but the last time i looked it was out yet.

From AVforums

I know that the iPlayer is due to begin testing soon and that the G10 has an ethernet port but it's never been used. Any word on whether the iPlayer will work with this TV?

Yes, the BBC iplayer will be available on Freesat TVs shortly, via the ethernet port.

Having done a little more digging it seems the G10 should have an update available at the end of this month which will enable iPlayer to work.

I've just received the following roll-out schedule from Panasonic. It's subject to software stability and successful testing, but I know some definite dates will be welcomed by many members.

2009 Viera televisions: end of July 2010
2008 Viera televisions: end of September 2010
2010 Diga models: end of Sept 2010
2009 Diga models: end of Oct 2010
