Hey guys, Im looking at getting a new Base unit next week and was hoping you guys could let me know if I'm on the right trac, as this is my first build for 2 years.

VTX ATI Radeon HD 5770 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card
Asus M4A88TD-M EVO/USB3 AMD 880G (Socket AM3) DDR3 microATX Motherboard
AMD Athlon II X4 Quad Core 635 2.90GHz (Socket AM3) - Retail
OCZ Gold 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-10666C9 (1333MHz) Low-Voltage Dual Channel (OCZ3G1333LV4GK)
Western Digital Caviar Black 640GB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache - OEM (WD6402AAEX)
Samsung SH-B083L/BSBP 8x BluRay ROM / 16x DVD±RW Drive - Black (OEM)
Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro Rev 2 CPU Cooler (Socket 939 / AM2 / AM3 / 775 / 1156 / 1366)

I cant afford anything more expensive than these parts but if you guys think there is a better mix please let me know.

Also only recently started to overclock so is the cpu cooler OK?
:D
Cheers Gage!

That cooler is fine, but as mentioned above, make sure you use a quality PSU from a brand name such as Corsair.

I was thinking of this one:
OcUK Crusade 450W Dual-Rail High Efficiency Power Supply

Cheers for the imput so far guys gonna change both suggestions so far.

What do you think of the HDD?
I keep getting told to get the Sansung F3. I went for the Caviar black sata III due to the board being sataIII and its 64mb cache?

samsung F3 500gb drives have an issue with the 8 series motherboard chipsets.

samsung have released a firmware fix, but can you do this yourself?

either get a 500gb black, or seagate barracuda 7200.12

Thanks guys, I will be buying this on the 28th July, with the changes that you guys suggested.

If you are bored you could spec me a Base unit up looking for £520 max and needs blu ray.

cheers

My arctic freezer 64 rev 1 (same as 7 rev. 1 but AMD version) is still coping with my 1055T hexcore very nicely. I have undervolted by 0.15V though from 1.475 to 1.325V, fully stable. Getting 38-40C normal usage.
