TV repair peeps in here please

DT66W and DT70M are two of them. For the others you'd have to try to use higher voltage units from that same series, but I doubt they'd fit. May have to oder online, the bay can be good for small quantities sometimes.

Hi thanks for the reply well I had a look and did not see that page so cheers for that all so.

I have gone through what I need and what they have on that page above and came up with this for -

10v
2200uf
105c (m)
use DT72P rated at 35v tho

35v
470uf
105c (m)
use DT67X rated at 50v tho

35v
1000uf
105c (m)
use DT71N rated at 63v tho

25v
1000uf
105c (m)
use DT70M rated at 25v :)

25v
470uf
105c (m)
use DT66W rated at 25v :)

will it mater if I use higher spec volt Capacitors as long as the uF is correct?.

All so you say about them not fitting could I manipulate the legs to fit providing there is room around the Capacitor?.

All so the Capacitors I removed had a white line down one side donating polarity is this correct? and the white line down the red ones from Craplins does that donate polarity all so.

thanks for all your patience.

It is fine electrically, but expect the higher voltage units to be bigger, probably both broader and taller than the ones you took out. If you can make them fit then great, but try not to leave too much lead length or wire them back to the PCB with wires (extra inductance, not good on SMPS).

The side with the stripe is "-", just be sure the new ones are orientated as the old ones were, the photos here could serve as reference, also i'd guess the shading and black lines on the PCB indicate the "-" side.

Hi again I all so did a detailed drawing of what ones went where and orientation hahaha.

Ok I will look at the ones that are higher voltage and I will take old Capacitors any way to see if there is a big diff in size.

Thanks for the info :)

one of my pals had this exact problem except on a Samsung 32 LCD, he changed some of capacitors on the power board for increased voltage ones and solved the problem straight away.

:) well its looking promising tbh I cant wait to get it working tho its not the best TV and only does 1366x720 I think.
Its better than me CRT :P any day hehehe.

And we is putting it on the wall to so will look nice if I manage to solder it all up ok im sure I can but we will see.

I will keep ya all posted.

You might want to look at replacing the entire power supply board, plenty sold on ebay.

And be careful around those big line filter capacitors, you should make sure they are discharged (short the pins with an insulated screwdriver).

Had this happen with my 40" Samsung, had two bad caps but has been running fine for over six months now since i swapped them out.

Hi there unless I am blind I couldn't see any on ebay I did look care to link me please thanks very much.

Yup those caps have just about had it.

As you have got them all out (Hope you made notes where they go and their orientation). Try replacements. Or as others have said, just get a new PSU board off eBay,

I had a Sky box that managed to desolder it's capacitors on the PSU.

Also had a mini PC with swollen caps, random reboots galore. Easy to replace.

Well I am back after being banned for 48hrs because I forgot to post a pic in the random picture thread which tbh I think is a load of sheep crap.

Any who I have purchased Capacitors finally and soldered them in and woooot plugged TV in and it starts straight away.

Thanks for every ones help.

congrats, I am a noob to soldering but it was a nice feeling when my viewsonic vx922 monitor began to pack in. Replaced 4 capacitors and it works like a charm now. Only cost a few quid to fix it :D

Awesome :)

This thread reminded me to chack my brothers old Sky box, which doesn't power up any more. No bulging capacitors though. Could be tin whiskers seeing how tiny the pitch of some parts are. Lots of dark, almost burnt, marks on the inside of the metal housing, which isn't a great sign :o
