Just ran this a couple of hours ago after my first real i7 overclock on my new Megahalem cooler.

Results as above @ 4GHz - think it'll go higher but it's already too hot for my liking...

Damn, just seen I'm 3rd of 3 (aka last) :)

6.5% quicker? is that the difference between mediocre and the fastest there is?

Guess another way to test would be an i7 970 or 980 with hyper threading off. I notice the single thread scores are a lot higher on Intel then Amd. Can't argue with the Phenom for value though.

Seem's like the hex don't scale too well, possible pointing to the shared cache i'd imagine. with two extra core a hex should theoretically be doing 1.25-1.5x more work than a quad but that isnt happening.

for example, 14,388 is what i just got with my 3.6ghz quad. Id expect a hex at 3.6ghz to get something in the region of 18k-21k, but it takes 4ghz to reach that with a hex.

Gareth was it definitely load all 6 cores?

pls change to latest version of cinebench - we want the latest optimisations right?

R10 - still not much in it like I said before mate, try R11.5 - I think thats where you'll see the gains people talk about
