why's everyone being so harsh on the guywhat people want to go to/from their wedding venues in is entirely upto them, and not indicative of the type of people they are at all.
I predict 10 minutes of fun before one of the following:
A) It breaks and replacement parts turn out to be non existent.
B) You crash it
C) The novelty wears off and it gathers dust for a few weeks before you sell it losing hundreds in the process.
For a bit of fun for up to a grand why not but a little soft top car of some sort. Sure your budget won't buy you much but I think it would be a better purchase.

Its probably a good idea until you actually think about how it will look on the day.
I wanted our first dance to be all normal at first but then Michael Jackson's thriller comes on and we do some of the moves from the music video.
Sounds amusing until you actually start planning it.
Or having everyone sit down for the meal with the joints most posh of posh cuttlery and crockery and then the waiters hand everyone a happy meal. It would tickle me immensely but its whether youe guests actually find it funny or the height of cringe.
If you do something zaney your guests have to get the joke or its not funny.
To 99% of women the wedding day is the fairytale come true.
At what point does the fairytale involve picking dead flies out of your teeth and inhaling diesel soot from the 15 year old Peugeot 306D you'll be stuck behind all the way to the reception venue?

OP will look like a tool driving that thing on public roads, I say he should get it, it's the only marriage made in heaven he'll ever experience.
Not at all. I'd not want to drive a buggy to my reception, even if both of us thought it'd be fun...I'd still get a proper car to drive her etc. and if I wanted the buggy I'd get it for some weekend fun rather than use at a wedding.
In honesty, how does the idea seem sensible? As has been said there are various things that'll mess up the 'once in a lifetime' (yes I know many get divorced and remarried, we'll ignore that) experience of getting married.
Her dress will get messed up, as will her hair etc.
As a toy for some summer fun though, don't see why not unless it'll likely throw up some huge bills, in which case, go with a cheap soft top car like an MX-5 or something which you can then possibly keep on if you enjoy driving it.![]()
