*Official OMG I got my 460 thread*

My KFA2 is the 768 meg version and is the overclocked edition. There is no squeal on Crysis and I've not clocked it any. I have a Phenom BE550 and have clocked that to 3.6 gig and at stock with the KFA can play everything maxed out at 1920x1080 so don't see the point in playing with the 460's settings.

It does not get any louder than it is now, the fan says 20% and I played Crysis for a good 2 hours last night.

One more thing, mine has the serviceable fan. There are clips you can undo to remove the fan to enable you to spray in an air duster or the like to clean the heat sink.

Thanks vale, thats interesting, seems you pay a serious price in noise just for that extra bit of ram, glad you are enjoying your new card :D

they advised the same thing. most 1GB wont be landing for 3 weeks... hence why all we are seeing is Palit and Gainward... and only slivers of things from partners like xfx, asus msi, gig etc...

paper launch of 1GB with a proper launch of the 768mb cards...

the odd handful might come through here or there but proper quantity and availability across the board is a way away.

ah thx for info, would you know if msi cyclone 768 would be delayed also?

ah well fingers crossed then, I feel a bit silly upgrading from a gtx 260 doubt it will make that much difference but just have shiny fever and this is the only nvid card I would realistically consider as the others just put out crazy heat/noise. I am actually tempted to buy a cheap 470 and downclock it

i have sources in distribution

Ah well, I think I'll stick with my original plan, wait for the second gen DX11 cards.

I'm in the "want to" upgrade my graphics state of mind, rather than "need to".

Might even grab a cheap s/h 8800GT and SLI it.

Wish I could hear what the Inno3d blower cards sound like.

Anyone with one able to make us an audio/video clip going from idle to load in furmark?

It's not that at all, they just need to put a decent cooling design with a fan that doesn't whine, the palit/gainward 768mb will have the same whine too, most noticeable during fan speed changes.

I need to, as I cannot play any games with my 8800gtx, I've either got a second try at oven method, or upgrading, i dont really want to invest in any card unless its a modern card that will last me. I have the option of going back to the gainward 7800gs+ agp i have on another mobo, but that would mean going back to a single core amd cpu for a while! which can be oc'd to 3ghz I suppose.

yeah sorry i meant for the kfa cards, the cooler looks identical in the pics it is odd that the slight extra ram turn 'whisper quiet' to 'loudest they ever heard'. That si really strange, maybe it is a bios issue and the fans rev up too much

I'm tempted to grab an el cheapo GTX460 and slap an aftermarket cooler on it later, i think the Gigabyte probably is still the best bet though.

What's annoying is that Newegg still have the Gigabyte card in stock, and it's popular judging by the number of reviews and forum posts in the US. Maybe Gigabyte put all their 1GB stock into the US market, but i'm still quite hopeful we will get some sooner than 3 weeks.

I'm not really in a desperate rush to upgrade anyway, just need to have a new card by the time Mafia 2 comes out, but i've got the bug now :/

hi people, i have been looking at the gtx 460 for a while also been looking all through the pages on here and it seems a lot of people are having problems with the 1gb version of this card because of the aftermarket coolers they use.

I am quite fussy when it comes to PC noise, i dont mind the odd fan noise but my gpu now (a basic msi ati 4670) makes quite a bit of noise and it the lodest point of my system, so with that gone and a new gpu, i can get rid of the noise.

So to do this, i will need to go for the 768mb version, seems to be a tad bit slower then the 1GB, but it does mean it will be quiet and i can get the EVGA one.

I game on a LG 22" monitor of 1680x1050. I am not planning to upgrade the monitor anytime soon.
Also i am not a massive PC gamer, play cod, left for dead, borderlands and thats about it for now.
So would you think this would be a good option for me as i like quiet and i game on this kind of monitor?
Thanks.

how does the 5770 perform?

Runs gr8 m8 ave had it for ages wont push games @ max settings but its good running medium to high

Was just thinking about changing my hardware to nv but the problems with these 460 1gb cards have made me change my mind

still rate the 5770 never had any problems with it

I game on a 19" at 1280x1024 but I'd still like the 1gb card because of its ability to push out the extra frames, esp if planning on getting dx11 titles in future, saying that the 768mb models still oc nicely like the 1gb models so there is room for extra performance. It's really about the cooler not the size of memory on the card, with a decent cooling setup noise need not be an issue for 1gb models, and the msi and gigabyte and some other models might be good ones to go for when uk stock arrives. The reference coolers are supposed to be pretty good, so one of those maybe, there is an msi cyclone 768mb edition too.

I am thinking of replacing my 2 x BFG 9800GT OC cards with two of these bad boys next month. Would people advise that I went for the 1GB versions rather than the regular even when running in SLI? I am currently running:

1920x1080 23"
Phenom II 965 currently running at stock (3.4GHz x4)
MSI NF980-G65 MoBo
4GB DDR3 1333 RAM (will probably up this to 8GB at the same time as I have 2 slots free)

thanks in advance :D

Can people with the Inno3d blower cards tell me what temps they are getting under furmark load with the fan fixed at what they would consider 'quiet' (so no louder than their system/cpu fans).

Also the % at which the fan is running. :)

so im thinking of just ordering a sparkle model from somewhere gonna cost about £190 for a non OC version but unless anyone has anything good or bad to say? im prob gonna just do it
