Anyone else selling at the moment?

Ads poor.
Hard to read laid out as it is & the mention of upgraded speakers makes me think of a Young Lad owner.
I'd do the ad again with a better lay out & only mention the Standard features.

thank you, I've done it , but everytime I update it thew advert is still the same "old" one does it take time to go live?

bullit

edit: nextday and it seems the update has taken place. Does it look better now? critique welcome

One thing I would remove is:

There's no need for that. It does nothing in your favour. People know what a warranty is so don't need explain. It also puts doubts which may not have even entered some peoples minds of 'M Power BMWs' potential high costs.

That's a fair point, I think I was trying to 'big-up' the BMW warranty too much as many others don't have it. I've taken that line out now, cheers :)

I put my old Civic for sale on AT and PH on Monday: http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1880207.htm

Got my first call today, chap agreed to a viewing which my dad had to do as I wasn't around. And whilst at the cinema, turns out he had turned up with cash in hand and a sale was agreed for £1270 there and then. I wanted a bit more ideally but given it's a hassle less (needed rear bushes replaced and was worried people were going to use the scratches as bargaining chips), my dad and I agreed to it. My only concern is the cash, but my dad reckons he's given them a good look, so fingers crossed, we've not been conned.

So, now regretting not putting it up for £1500 and paying for 3 weeks ad. It was actually this thread which made me think selling it was going to be hard. Paid £2200 3 years ago for it and it has served me very well. Ah well, all done and dusted now.

The standard car makes 240bhp and 236lb/ft of torque, it also has a very distinctive sound. Mine how ever was taken to Thorney Motorsport for a stage 2 upgrade which involves a full turbo back 3" Miltek Race exhaust and stage 2 remap. This took the power to 285bhp and 320lb/ft of torque which has completely changed the way the car drives. Not only is it quicker but its so much smoother to drive as all the flatspots are now removed which also removes the torque steer. There are two states to have this car which are controlled via the Sport button. With the sport button off the car is more relaxed and less on edge which makes for easier urban driving and also more economical but with the sport button on the full power of the map is activated which makes for a great time around the twisty country roads with its pin sharp throttle response and direct steering. The tuners, Thorney Motorsport have given the work a 3 year warrenty on the parts fitted and also parts that are directly affected by the parts fitted, the Miltek however has a life time warrenty.

The condition of this car is excellent for the age and mileage & still looks Stunning. The interior is pretty much unmarked.

The car has tax until October and the MOT runs out in January next year. The service isn't due until November and as mentioned the tyres are pretty much new so there are zero costs due on this car for atleast 4 months.

Thanks for looking and if you have any questions then feel free to ask.

Had a quick mooch.
The add is pretty damn good but I've corrected a few mistakes & cut a few bits out.

Warranty is mispelled an all.
Never thought I'd be correcting someones spelling. :p

I had my 330 on Autotrader, piston heads and a couple of car forums, across 2 months I think I had about 5 calls, 1 guy came to look at it, agreed a price then vanished.

I eventually sold it to a local guy, I put for sale signs in the windows, I live on the corner of a fairly busy road so lots of passing traffic.

Feels good to be back in the Saab.

Going to hi jack this thread as my previous sale fell through. I'm listing my car one last time before I haggle a PX. If you could just look at my advert and give me some tips on how to improve it?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170517099307&ru=http://shop.ebay.co.uk:80/%3F_from%3DR40%26_trksid%3Dp4712.m570.l1313%26_nkw%3D170517099307%26_sacat%3DSee-All-Categories%26_fvi%3D1&_rdc=1#ht_1018wt_964

Only things I picked up on were

"It has has never been driven hard in 1st or 2nd."

Really? I hate it when people say this in an ad. It's like when people buy a Type R Honda/Clio 1x2 of some description and say never thrashed/driven hard. Of course it has, to say it's never been driven hard in 1st and 2nd is undoubtedly not true imho. More so one that's been modded so much! I'd personally have got rid of that bit.

And secondly

"I also only have 1 key as this was all that provided to me by Vauxhall and I foolishly didn't challenge them for a 2nd"

Again, really? Or was it from when the key got taken when the car was stolen? If not then ignore me!

Either way that last point of only 1 key, on such a enw car, might well be putting people off as well.

I had to drop the price of mine to get it to sell but its quite a niche car if thats the right word spelt correctly.

Guys picking it up tomorrow if all goes well, fingers crossed, rabbits foot down my pants, dont cross anyone on the stairs avoid all contact with ladders, dont be stepping on any cracks

Huzzah, ad went up Monday night, bloke's coming round tomorrow with cash (unless this has jinxed it..)

Well over a grand under asking, but then I was asking far too much with the bodywork and mechanical problems.
He didn't discover everything either \o/

Oh, and for a few hundred quid I'd rather get rid now than have it sitting on my drive for potentially months having people wasting my time with silly offers.

Selling my 147 GTA, but due to the engine mods, I suspect I've got a very narrow market to aim for so may take a while. Not on PH yet mind, only on the Alfa forums. Got a garage down south interested, which would make for an easy sale...

I'm really thinking I should have held out for more..
This guy doesn't even seem fussed about the 4wd.
But then waiting for an idiot like myself could take a while :o
