Just to let you all know as I can't see a thread anywhere! MAFIA 2 WILL BE RELEASED ON STEAM!!!

Release date 27/8

£29.99 standard £39.99 Digital Deluxe!:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Cost's a bit steep for me on release though, will have to save up for it or wait for it to come down :(

..or buy it from somewhere cheaper..
 
but what if they release more DLC and extra goodies. people with the SE wont be able to get them or will have to wait a really really long time!
 
Oooo just noticed people who preorder on Steam get Mafia 1 to play today...

I sold my hard copy - and never completed it...

do it! its an amazing game, ive completed it about 6 times and the last time i did was only a year ago.
 
Pre ordered it, the deal for me was "free" mafia 1, going to play it tomorrow, have great memories about this game.

Oddly enough mafia 2 is not displayed on my game's list, perhaps it will appear there at launch.

Not really "Free" if you think about it.
 
Just found this on Mafia 2 site:

If you're picking up Mafia II elsewhere, never fear - everyone can download the game at launch (I'm guessing Mafia IIs launch is what is meant here) for $9.99 regardless of where you are preordering.

That SHOULD translate to £5.99, as Steam is usually pretty good with exchange rates.

Also note the DDE has a soundtrack, SE has extra DLC (Greaser car pack). And Sound Track will no doubt hit the net for free, whether the developer intends that or not. ;)

Sad thing it, it actually sounds like a fun addition. Hopefully we might get it, just not for free?
 
Too expensive from Steam and nothing is free if you have to pay for something to get it.

Remember Mafia 1 isn't Steamworks so you won't be able to use it on Steam - nowadays this is a deal breaker for me - I'd rather pay slightly more to have them on Steam rather than in a box - Just so much more convienent now I that I have all my games in one place...

Slightly more meaning about 5x the price? I do very much enjoy steam, but I'm just amazed this works for people. To each their own :)
