Am I missing something?
I just googled Omega Seamaster and I see its £2180, which I appreciate is not expensive in watch terms but surely this is ridiculous for a watch you have to wind up manually?!

They do "just work" if you wear them regularly as stated. They are officially supposed to hold up to 56 hours worth of wind i believe i have read somewhere, if its kept topped up. This is plenty to last through most unworn periods.
If left longer then just give it a few winds and its good to go again, only takes a few seconds. Winding it is actually quite therapeutic as you can "feel" the mechanism![]()
