FAO Rotty/Watch enthusiasts

Still trying to figure out if you genuinely thought the OP was referring to Rottweilers or if you're just trying to be funny...

Either way...oh dear :p.

I just googled Omega Seamaster and I see its £2180, which I appreciate is not expensive in watch terms but surely this is ridiculous for a watch you have to wind up manually?!

Am I missing something?

I would just want a watch that works.

If you wear it you don't have to wind it, it self winds based on your natural body movement. If you don't wear the watch for ~30-40hours it will stop as there is no movement for the rotor to spin, therefore not winding itself automatically.

They do "just work" if you wear them regularly as stated. They are officially supposed to hold up to 56 hours worth of wind i believe i have read somewhere, if its kept topped up. This is plenty to last through most unworn periods.

If left longer then just give it a few winds and its good to go again, only takes a few seconds. Winding it is actually quite therapeutic as you can "feel" the mechanism :p
