24" gaming monitor Budget £500

I have a dell U2410 and comparing it to my old LGW2452T when I started it up it did look very yellow but all I had to do was change a few settings and now it is perfect! The colour depth is excellent and the viewing angle is also excellent (especially as it is an IPS monitor) but all in all I am very happy with it. Also, it has tons of inputs so I have my PC running from display port :D but I suppose you are taking a risk that you might get one of the ones with the permanent colour tint.

500 notes is too much to spend on a gaming monitor as 24 inch monitors can be had for under 200 pounds so like the others said if your going to spend that much might as well pay the extra for a 30inch mon but also consider 2 or 3 monitor set ups as well :)

once you compare the £200 monitor to it you tell me which one you would rather look at for a few years :)
Agree with this, paid £430.00 for a benq fp241w a few years ago, probably the best hardware purchase ive made, a fantastic all round screen. The old adage, you get what you pay for.

The U2410 would also be on of my best purchases, along with my other Dell, the 2407. Everything about them both is awesome (Pic quality, stand, build quality etc), the only downside would be the input lag if you're a pro FPS gamer.

If my benq ever does fail on me, the screen id consider replacing it with would be the U2410, actually considered the del 2407 wfp but was able to get the benq a bit cheaper.

I am no pro gamer but comparing it side by side to a 2ms response rate monitor I couldn't notice any difference so I wouldn't worry about that factor when purchasing :)

Don't fall into the trap of assuming because they are more expensive, the colours are more accurate and the viewing angles are superior, that an IPS panel is the immediate best choice for gaming. I have used a vast range of monitors of all panel types - from TTL to CRT to all types of LCD and even OLED. IPS panels are a very good choice for colour professionals, but the high brightness and vividness of the image that modern TN panels provides is something that a lot of people find attractive for games and movies. Like response time, what people are after and what they find acceptable in terms of image quality is subjective in nature. Ask yourself - do you like colours that are vivid and 'jump out' at you when you are gaming, or do you find yourself turning down the brightness but still appreciating more subtle and accurate colour tones?

My monitor is playing up so i need a new one. Ive had a look into it myself and i quite like the look of the Dell UltraSharp U2410.

Isnt the input lag quite bad on this screen? Being the only thing i do on my PC i would try get a screen with decent input lag.

Depends what type of games you play.

The 120hz for FPS shooters makes a great deal of difference, hence why most pro's still prefer CRT's still.

If you are prepared to play the lottery and returns game with Dell, the U2410 is a really good monitor, provided you can get a "good un"
