Since being off sick from work, See thread here. I have applied for a few jobs, mostly Management as that is what I am currently. I fired off a few more applications this morning and promtly got a call from RHR recruitment and just had a quick chat with one of the staff. He is impressed with my CV and we have arranged a telephone conversation for Friday morning. They are based in Manchester and he didnt want me to travel up just for a chat. Thats why we are doing it on the phone.

Once the chat is over he told me I would be placed to have an interview fairly soon after..

Looks like things are on the up..:D

Go me.....

Well done, ive got myself an interview next thursday and another job is in the pipeline. Just make sure you do your research on the role and the company. These are a good start

In the past month ive had 3 face to face interviews and one phone interview. The phone one went well and I got a interview but the recruitment agency got the location wrong and I couldnt travel to the office.

One of the interviews I just missed out on which I really wanted and the other 2 they thought the role would be too junior for me and I would end up leaving after a few months when I found something better (which is exactly true, they were IT helpdesk jobs in a team mainly taking calls)

Make sure you have some questions to ask them such as company expansion, what your main duties will be in the first 3 months, specific questions about the role, if there are any team building/social events, what their background is (the person who you will be working with)...

Cheers for that Guest2. Its been 10 years since my last interview. I have got questions to ask. Lots. Being in the role I am in now I always ask questions and communicate so I would imagine any interview I get will go down very well. I wont get nervous..

The telephone chat is with the recruitment agency just to get more details etc and then they will put me forward to the company I have applied the job for and all being well get an interview with them..

Ah, all the best then, recruitment "consultants" get right on my wick, so wouldn't have been as encouraging if that's what you were being interviewed to do :p

lol I have worked for this company for 5 years and I only know the team i work in, and as its based on site at a customer I dont even know where the nearest company office is !!! I've not even been to the company offices (where ever they are)

(im in IT though so none of that is really important)

I am 'inbetween work' and also it's not going too bad. Looking seriously for about 3 weeks. 3 interviews, 1 offer (which I rejected).

I was down to the last 2 for a very, very nice contract but messed it up.

Had a chat with Holly... From Phones 4 U. She called me a bit ago and pretty much had a telephone interview. I fired off the application a few days ago. She was impressed and giving a call back again later this week.

The basic wage isnt as good as what I am on now however she did say if target sales are met then that will increase my salary. It was Assistant store manager I applied for but she said on more than one occasion how would I feel being a Manager and would I feel confident with my own store!!!!

Sounds good so far..

I can't say I have ever needed to know MD/exec or share price when in an interview!

I guess it show your new potential employer that you know something about the company your applying for. I certainly will be brushing up on some background information on the places I have applied for. It cant do any harm can it.

It may well show that and it can't do any harm, I'm just saying it's never been something that I've needed to know for any interview that I have gone for.

Oh and I have found that consultants will put people forward for many reasons, not all of them because they think you will get the job!

Its a trap! Shes the manager of the store you have been offered assistant manager. She was asking those questions to see if you have any ambitions and if you are a threat to her job.

Got my info pack sent by email and visitor letter etc. Just now to organise the journey there. I dont drive but buses to Nott's are good, albiet a bit of a walk to Lenton Ind Est from the QMC.
