Waiting on cashback?...

cashback schemes are hit and miss. I've received a few cashback claims, but they amount to pocket change. Was suppose to receive over £60 cashback for a virgin flight, and despite providing topcashback with all the info they requested, they refused to acknowledge the cashback.

I'm currently waiting on £258 from Aviva, O2 and Vodafone (although I'm holding out little hope for that one).

I bet they'll all go down the toilet.

Supposedly Vodafone started using a different affiliate late last year... mine paid out about a week ago (£100 which is great as it should have been £40, error in my favour). Depending when the transaction was you may be okay.

I only use Topcashback now, much better than Quidco in my experience. I've collected and been paid over £100 in the last year :)

Cool. I started my contract with them in April, so my fingers shall remain crossed until I hear anything for certain.

Quidco sent out the following to affected members yesterday:

On Friday 16th July Quidco was advised that DGM were going into receivership, leaving to the best of our knowledge, Quidco and thus 24,723 Quidco members owed nearly £400,000.

This follows several months during which we were constantly promised payment, which, based on a 5 year trading relationship we took in good faith. Over the last several months we have paid 11,946 Quidco members £194,000 of money owed to them by DGM.

This money came out of our own pockets as we have always tried to keep member payments going out in as timely manner as possible, even if the networks are slow in paying us. We have done this without fanfare, fuss or blogging over the last few months.

However, despite us paying £194,000 there is still over £200,000 owed to Quidco members by DGM.

So in short, we know it is a tough situation for our members. This situation is our ultimate nightmare, but please bear with us as there is still hope for a positive resolution for all.

Finally, know that we are fighting our corner for our members, trying everything possible to get this money back and putting in processes to help avoid this happening again. We will keep you updated as soon as we know more.

People are mentioning vodafone (whom i am waiting on some cashback), yet they are no-where to be seen on the list above?

It was advertised as being X with a possible Y cashback. Y was never guaranteed, you got the product for X...

Your insurance example is exactly the problem, you were stupid to do anything other than go for Company A.

From their own site "when you make a purchase from this retailer, we get a commission and we pay this to you as ‘cashback’. "

Nowhere does it say that this cashback is only a "possibility". From the above, it looks like a matter of course rather than "you may be lucky and get some cashback".
