As in literally, swapping one car for another. Does anyone know anyone else that does this? My step brother seems to do it every six months, just whacks it up on gumtree and asks what people have to swap... this time he is swapping his 96' mildly chaved Saxo for a... 1991 316i with m3 bodykit, providing it isn't a total heap, although it inevitably will be, considering the owner has been banned from driving 7 times. This however, does not phase my step brother who is going to test drive it tommorrow and plans to really thrash it as "that's the only way you can tell if a beemer is any good".

He gets offered all sorts of stuff and it just makes me wonder why anyone wants to swap cars that seem worth a lot more for the heaps he tends to own. :p

A 1991 e36 with an M3 bodykit - does not compute.

My '92 e36 was a 316 and slow as hell. Mostly because being that early they shared the engine with the e30. A tiny 4 pot. Mine seemed to last forever, but it had noisy tappets.

He can thrash it all he likes, as it will need thrashing to actually move!

Only way to stop his antics is to post pics here then link him to the thread after it exceeds the 4th page in replies.

I'll soon find out if he has done the swap. To be honest the pics the guy sent don't actually look all that bad, no horrific visible defects, but we'll see...

I'd rather push an M3 than drive a diesel Seat ;)
It's going tomorrow hopefully, to be replaced with a barge.

You know, it's kind of sad seeing it go.
I think it's a fantastic car and the engine is very good, if very agricultural. I don't care what anybody says :p
