HI there

Well I just wanted to say a formal hello really and thought it was best to make this thread so everyone does not take the "Mustang thread" off topic.

Its good to be back, as usual I shall be attending the Southern meet next month, as you have come to know from me I attend pretty much all the meets no matter where they are and thats not going to change. :)

For those who are unaware the Mustang has now gone, I did crank 577 horses from her though before I sold her and she is still going strong with 55,000 on the clock, not bad considering 48,000 of those have been at well over 500 horses and the only thing to go eventually was the stock clutch, 550+ horses was just a bit too much. :D

I've now got an EVO X FQ-360 which I do thoroughly enjoy with the ASC switched off, great fun, bit boring with it on but fitting Semi-Slick tyres transformed the EVO X to a car full of feedback, loving it, still yet to tinker under the bonnet though, but soon I shall. :D

Welcome back! Did see the 'stang for sale a couple months ago, how long have you had the Evo and how does it compare?

What I shall do is write a review at somepoint comparing the Mustang, EVO and CSL, but give me a few days.

But a breif summary:-

1. Mustang presence and noise, the EVO is just cack in comparison.
2. Mustang engine responsivness and power, you can't beat a supercharged V8.
3. Mustang had a slightly better interior and build quality.
4. Mustang fantastic handling feedback and steering.

5. EVO is easier to live with and averages 18-22MPG compared to Mustangs 14-18MPG, both around town figures, on a run they both returned circa 26-28MPG.
6. EVO has truly unreal handling, where Clarkson reviewed it and said you can enter X corner 20mph faster than you can in a Ferrari, well he was exxagerating but not by much, A-B I've not been in anything quicker bar an R35 GTR, but the EVO does feel more nimbler and more responsive to direction changed compare to GTR but GTR did seem to have more grip.
7. The build in Rockford Fosgate system is immence for this type of car.
8. The room, loads in the back, huge boot, fantastic seats in the EVO.
9. The handling, the Mustang was nearly as good on a smooth road but the EVO is fantastic everywhere else and you can really drive it on the limit.

So two different cars, the EVO is a devasting weapon once you learn you can push them that bit more, the Mustang takes a lot more skill and bigger balls to push and the engine fantastic. They both drink petrol. :D

3. Mustang had a slightly better interior and build quality.

I don't know you, but with comments like this, I'm sure you're going to cause quite a stir here! :D

How have you dealt with the drop in power? Do you plant your foot in the Evo and feel disappointed, or does it still feel pretty quick even after a 'chargered Mustang?

Hi there,

Oh and I still would like a passenger ride due to the lack of space in the rear of the Stang last time round (!).

K thx.

Thats the beuty of turbo powered cars, they feel more powerful than they actually are, hence why so many people think their Turbo Diesels are fast when they are not. :p

But yes the lack of power is noticed especially into three figures, the Mustang would do 60-100mph in 4.2s, wheras the EVO takes 5.8s which is noticable and above 100mph the Mustang spun the speedo round very quick.

Not sure where you went, but welcome back anyway pal :)

Oh and triple figure speeds? Before you get slain by the child killer crowd, better mention it was on your own personal private strip :p
