I would recommend people try it on Insane, since you should be less likely to have Rambo players who speed ahead to get all the kills then come running back to you for heals, ammo and infestation curing.

No, you don't, you push through an area and try to weld them behind you and push on or you run out of bullets. Preferably trying to melee lone enemies to conserve ammo.
