Man Flu... Office is under fire

I've had this cold since sunday night. It's not wearing off, and i can see it lasting until the weekend.

Try wearing a dust mask, It might help.

I'd leave.

I hate it when people come in to work ill, so selfish. The company can survive without you for a few days so go home and stop spreading germs all over the office.

If it was me id ask them to stop being so selfish, why are they nervous about taking leave?

If it was me if one person sneezed or coughed near me id give them the evils!!!! I dont mind once or twice but when the whole office has it and they make no attempt to cover it I have very little sypathy.

well i managed to escpae for a few hours, and the three main germ harboring dish-er-out-ers have gone home for the day.

I am back here for another 40 mins :(

My office has a policy - "If you're sick, don't come in, we don't want more people ill so keep your germs to yourself!"

Our Company is the same, but today, being onsite at a clients, their policy is, if your ill, work harder, if your dead... just one last call before you RIP.

Productivity is the way forward not an office of ill gremlins.

PS, is there anything such as this "Fist Defense" that i can take to help protect myself?

Wearing trousers often a good defence against a fist offence.

True story but the first week of my new job my manager said I should go home within an hour of sitting at my desk because I had such a flu.

Good thing too because the moment I stepped into my car I had to open the door and ninja vomit into the parking bay making sure nothing hits the car.

NOT GOOD!

Felt great afterwards though.

Oh it's good because you feel better immediately after, like as if you vomited out the offending ingredient causing your tummy to rumble in the bronx!

Must have been something terrible, the stains remained in that bay for weeks!

Still, having a day off during the first week of your new job =

hahahahaah Khaaan,
For a minute i read that as, the stains remained in my pants for weeks then.

Looks nothing like it.

Usually the night before I get a cold the back of my throat gets itchy, I start getting a slight runny nose and mucus gathers in the throat. Literally every time this happens.

I heard a guy in a radio show state that he's not caught a cold in 20 years because of Garlic. When he feels one coming on, he eats 3 cloves of Garlic raw. He said the trick is to take the shell off and cut them in half and pop them down your throat like tablets.

I've tried this every time I can feel a cold coming on and haven't had once since.

Try it!

i wouldnt say itchy i would say the first sign your getting one is either your throat or nose burns/stings, thats where the germs got in and are multiplying. garlic will never stop a cold/flu, its all in his head and not all sore throats are from a cold starting. in theory the best way to stop them would be to make sure the germs got doused in alcohol, ive tried drinking neat vodka/whisky when i felt the first signs, and it seemed to dull it down abit, but never stopped it.
best way to not get ill is to not be near ill people, nearly 2 years since i last had a cold/flu although i think im lucky cos theres always some snivilling rat coughing or sneezing when queud behind you at the shops.

i have never heard of the Garlic trick, i will give it ago.
Do i chew it (yuck) or swollow whole?
