Drip of sweat on motherboard?

Whilst I was building yesterday a drip of sweat landed on the back of the motherboard, I mopped it up a little but there was still a little damp trail where it had been. 36 hours later I am still scared to turn it on, could this sweat on the back of the board damage it in any way?

Thanks

I'd very much doubt it if you've left it 36 hours, it should be fine. good luck! if your worried about component's and so forth start the board up on it's own first just to see how it goes.

hmmm sweat is conductive. the salts dissolved in to the water allows the free moment of electrons through the water.

but once the water evaporates the salts are no longer conductive. so you should be good.

where did it drip on to? if its something like back of cpu socket or north bridge then i would be concerned but if its like something no so important id be ok.

can't you take it back if it doesn't work?

Thanks, I am super paranoid when building PCs... I guess I worry too much.

It just dripped onto a free bit of board with some random capacitor bits on it.

If your really concerned and are able ie you havn't put it in a case yet have a look and if there is no moisture then your good to go. After 36 hours unles it was a damn big drop of sweat you should be fine but i can remember when i used to be that nervous and that alone proves i have a damn good memory :).

Yeah, what ^he^ said. If you can't see any moisture you're fine. After all, there is moisture naturally in the air (that's what humidity is) and that doesn't usually cause a problem unless it gets to unusually high levels (which it doesn't here in the UK) - so don't panic, it'll be fine.

Sweat is nothing... just wait until you accidentally dribble on your motherboard*.

*Don't ask me how I did it, I'm still trying to work it out myself. :(

what are you guys doing to get hot and sweaty while putting a few bits together?

get more exercise, or stop getting all moist and excited about pc components.

It gets hot some places, and if you drop a screw, that makes you sweat finding the bugger.
