Just picked up this sytem.

Specs are as follows:

Antec p182 case
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 processor Arctic Freezer 7 pro cooler
550w PSU
8 GB Corsair XMS2 DDR2 RAm 800mhz
300GB Velociraptor 10k HD
500GB Sata II HD
DVD RW
DVD Rom
Asus P5K C Motherboard
Nvidia 9800 GT Graphics card
Multi car reader

Would you recommend overclocking the 9800gt? Also havent really got any games installed yet but do you recon this machine will be good for games? crysis etc?

the ram alone is worth a good £160, then the cpu can go for £80 case would be £70

i think £380 wouldn't be bad, but it is very much a guess.

9800GT generally OCs fairly well - nothing amazing but a worthwhile bump usually.

Aslong as the CPU is at atleast 3gig then should be good for any game out atm at upto 1680x resolution with high or max quality settings, except maybe metro 2033. It will start to feel it at 1920x or above tho.

ok thats good to know. i paid £280 for it and i got warranty and vista oem disk.

My monitor only supports 1440x900 so it wont be maxing out any games to soon,

Actually for that res, pretty sure your 9800GT can max out in most games such as Call of Duty MW and MW2 and the source games...just not the games like Crysis or Metro 2033.

Hi, the specs of the pc i bought said it was a 9800gt but i have realised that it is in fact the 9600gt Now is there a big difference between these two cards in terms of price/performance?

entry level and still a good gaming card I guess at lower resolutions, even high settings in some games, and some people use it as a dedicated physx card.

It can run all current games at med to high for me (1366x768 res) so its still a decent budget card and it overclocks pretty well.

no. i bought the pc for £280 so i dont really think it would be worth it to upgrade. I was told it came with the 9800gt but i have found out its the 9600gt, How much would you reckon the price is of these? As i want to tell the seller.
