*Official OMG I got my 460 thread*

yep cancelled elsewhere 1gb cylcone here i come, then my sc2 rig will be complete.....MMMMHHHHWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

heh i have a sparkle 1gb arrivng probbly monday and a cyclone hopefully tomorrow.

ill keep the quitest/best clocker and send t'other back . unless im happy with the cyclone in which case ill reject delivery of the sparkle...

well everythign i have seen review wise of the cyclone = insane overclocks (i personally not interested in oc'ing unless i need to) and also most importantly for me it runs quiet and has higher quality capacitors to prevent coil whine noise and really really pray the latter two are true.

Wont have it up and running till monday though :( as i need to drive to london mums house to collect it *shakes fist*

From what I've read the cyclone is a bit louder than the stock cooler, BUT its temps are about 10 degrees lower, which suggests there's plenty of room to lower the fan speeds to reduce the noise.

Also unlike the Palit or Gainward the fan noise is just airflow - no turbine whine. That's what I've read anyhow - I don't have direct experience.

Edit: It looks like the MSI Cyclones are in stock in a few places now. I'm going on holiday for a couple of weeks, so it's not really worth me buying one now, so I'll wait until after my holiday and hope the Gigabytes are out.

Cyclone ordered with Sat del :D

That'll do me. Hopefully it'll be pretty quiet. :)

I want details! And pics. And Video or it never happened or something.

The choice appears to be between the MSI and the Gigabyte model. At this point they both look pretty similar so I guess it's down to price and free delivery from another site that i get.

There are crucial differences (for me), which favour the Gigabyte.

If you order the 1GB OCUK GTX 460, is it just a matter of pot luck as to what brand you'll get? Or will it always be one specific one?

It was Inno3d at first i think, it might have changed now though, don't know - ocuk don't seem to want to bother to find out if you ask them from some reports on here. Just remember you can always return it if you're not happy, at your own carriage cost.

Nick, D13 and Hex and anyone else look forward to your thoughts on the MSI as it is the one I have my crosshair on. I won't be buying until I get my refund for the gainward though. Nick you had a kfa and Hex you had a palit right so that's what you'll be comparing it to... at least I'll have an idea of how different the MSI will be compared to my gainward as palit probably used the same fan.

£182 is cheap but by the time you add delivery its the same price as another competitor which can do free delivery.

You're joking, of course it must be, that's the first time I've heard a fan that sounds like that - and the msi can't sound the same or act the same, surely not. I'm going with know so instead of hope so, not that I know for sure of course :p

I know! Surely it's got to be better, bigger fan, better heatsink, it can't possibly be worse...

...OR CAN IT!!!

(I say no...)

(But what if it is!)
