Just a quick question, I've bought something off ebay, paid for it, got good feedback, and when it I received it there was damage that wasn't mentioned in the listing.
I contacted the seller about sending it back and he agreed and refunded me straight away.
I'm sending the item back tomorrow special delivery but I wanted to know what to do with the feedback I have now got for an item I will not longer have.

Give positive feedback to the other guy?
File some kind of ebay feedback removal?
Other?

Thanks

If you don't want to leave positive feedback just delete the transaction and don't leave feedback at all? If you wanted to be awkward you could leave neutral.

since he is sorting out the problem, give him/her positive feedback.

this

just dont go all out. something like ''good customer service''

he/she is obviously a decent ebayer if they sorted you out. may of just been a genuine mistake with the damage

Personally I'd leave positive feedback stating that there was a problem with the item but the seller had dealt with the issue quickly and to your satisfaction.

Not at all. Why would people send out a damaged item, and then get the item refunded in full? Of course, maybe they forgot about the damage altogether, or missed it. They are down the cost of the postage to the OP. At least it was resolved quickly and amicably.

Warrants a positive imo. Do you feel hard done for, or feel as though it is poor. Was it a positive experience?

Quick refund, then I simply leave no feedback. If the listing was a complete fabrication, then I leave neutral mentioning prompt handling of problem. If refund had to be forced via paypal, then negative.

Positive it is then.
He replied instantly to my complaint message with the refund.
The item was damaged before putting in the post and the guy must have known but there you go.

Remember folks, ask for bigger pictures! :)

I'm just out the £8 or so to send it back to him.

He should be paying the return postage IMO!

Yeah, if it's for an auction that ended but the sale didn't go through, then I always place positive feedback. E.g. I had the high bid for a couple of posters from a seller. He didn't have either of them in stock, probably miscounted his stock or something, then refunded me within a few hours. I then placed a positive with a message saying something like "The auction listed items that seller didn't have, but did refund quickly. Thanks."
