**** Original Starcraft 2 Thread ****

Stock arrived at work today and there was no embargo on staff purchasing early. yay!

Shame it wont install until 27th, but hey i get to look at the lovely hardback art book and the USB memory stick is nice heavy and chunky.
 
Okay something i have to ask, I do generally suck at any RTS online, but ive noticed with this in few vids ive watched people seem to be building barracks etc at an entrance of a base and not a defence turret?

Any perticular reason for this or just cause a building is stronger

Well for one, Terran missile turrets can't shoot ground units. :p

Static defense is also high up in the tech tree. Protoss cannons require a forge, spine crawler requires a spawning pool (ok not high up but you won't have creep at your ramp for a while) and terran missile turrets require an engineering bay. These things don't generally come for a while, when it doesn't matter too much if you have your ramp blocked or not.

Also, turrets/cannons are static. You can lift off barracks, you can drop down supply depots. So you have a solid wall that can be moved whenever you want when you play terran. If Protoss did this then they'd have to destroy it later to move out of the base.
 
Haven't pre-ordered it yet however I think I'm just about to, never played the first one but I've been reading up on this one and the more I see the more I want it.
 
Keep seeing same ad for it on TV just makes me want it more, This looks to me best PC game in a very long time quite surprised at the specs for it seems dont need much to run it in full so thats another bonus
 
I had CE's orderd from Gameplay as well as Game online and in store (did have them ordered at Amazon/play but they charged more) to cover my ass as the last times ive orderd CE's of the last 2 wow addons the order has been cancel at the last min.

Anways Both the Gameplay and Game online took there cash aout of my account the same day on the 22nd , and both been in the pick & packed and "Preparing For Despatch" stages since then (just checked now). No call from my local game store as well.

I dam well hope this dont end up like last time and they cancel the order at the last min AGAIN
 
Tbh not too bothered that mine hasn't shipped as long as I get it for Tuesday, no one is going to be able to play it before hand anyway.

Okay i dont get this why can you not install it before 27th? I know its likely for it to not allow you to play online etc or activate if its using some sort one time activation system how is not installing a safety measure ? Or am i just being thick >.<
