i have often noticed that when somebody says something which i believe to be insincere (an example today was a 'singing coach' on big brother - (hey, there was nothing else on)) that they close their eyes when they are giving praise which i don't believe they really mean. does anyone else think this is true? i have also noticed it in real life situations between people

Eyes down for lying, eyes up for remembering something, i use it a lot for work in claims etc to find out who's telling the truth

i thought it was looking to the left or right (can't remember which side) when exagerrating or lying about something because your left and right hand sides of the brain access different places of the necessary thoughts?

What happens if someone is remembering a lie?
:D

It must take a lot of practise to read body language. Inexperienced liars will look away, more experienced liars will maintain eye contact to seem sincere and to spot if their lie has been detected, liars with even more experience won't adhere to these stereotypes.

Generally I tend to be distrustful of everyone.

I've noticed that people often shake their head while saying something insincere. It can be quite revealing if you spot it.
