Was looking for a suggestion section but there is not one - crap.

I was thinking it would be better slitting the apple hardware section into:

iPhone

&

Apple computer hardware

Its really annoying have loads of apple phone stuff mixed with apple computer products.

Just a suggestion, lol

I would vote for the App Store stuff to go into any dedicated iPhone section. Though I am not sure there would be all that much conversation left in the Apple Software section without it! :p

+1 I was going to post this as well.

These iphone posts should be in the mobile phone forum really.

You don't see windows and linux phone users posting the linux and windows forum.

I have to say I think it's fine the way it is. The fact that iPhone dominates the other Apple stuff is more of a reflection on how the company is operated these days.

I disagree you do not want a site with to many sub-forums.

But about every 4th post is a iphone related issue.

Also the reason the 'official' threads are created is to "keep all the crap in here"
Well i say widen it up to a sub forum and keep all the crap in there.

From what I can gather a couple of the mods here own both Macs and iPhones and wanted control of threads regarding both, so decided that it was best to merge Mac and iPhone threads into one Apple area. It seems pretty stupid to me, especially when you compare how good the HTC Desire thread in the mobile forum is compared to the iPhone one here is. There is a lot of potential iPhone knowledge on the forums being wasted due to the way it's been done.

I think splitting the Apple forum up with mobile stuff in a section on its own and PC related stuff in another is a very good idea.

Making a sub forum will just move all of the iPhone stuff from here to "there", there's no point in that at all. iPhone hardware issues are in the Apple hardware section, software issues in the Apple software section. It's a product made by Apple so I don't see why it should be in the mobile phone section either. It's a piece of Apple hardware and as such should stay in the Apple forum.

Its a mobile phone!!!!1111!!!! Just like all the other mobiles.

I agree, think an iOS subforum would be appropriate, covering software and hardware.

I dislike *****Official****** threads anyway, whats so official about them? All they do is confine information making it harder to search through over hundreds of pages. When individual topics could be covered separately.

As per the post regarding ios products taking up a lot of the apple sections and this being a reflection of the way the company is making money these days. Surely them having their own dedicated space would also reflect this even more.

Defiantly dont move it to mobile phones, because we are better than them. (snotty desire fanboi's will get irrate when their thread gets knocked from the top spot all the time :D)

I personally don't see a problem here. The iPhone is Apple Hardware so anything related to that there is an appropriate forum, as is the software side.

Of course I will forward this on to the big guys fr their opinion though :)
