Capital lettering was a mistake but what is with the negative comments?
It was a genuine news article and I had hoped for some sensible thoughts - obviously too much to ask for here.

my bet is, NK will posture china will quietly tell them to shut up, while publicly condemning the US and SK for inflaming the situation with thier war games.


the games will go on and end and everyone will posture some more and it will carry on like normal.
 
I suspect that is indeed what will happen and to be honest the 'wargames' don't really help the situation.
Assuming though that they DID torpedo the South Korean ship it makes you wonder what makes the North tick...

you wouldnt actually fire your guns though because if you did the police would finish you

this is all that NK are doing a. ''ZOMG evil commies are making threats again'' . they have the right to make these threats imo. but of course they wont actually follow them through because world police china would give them a beatdown

Yeah, I think that's a pretty safe bet.

...All this has happened before, and will happen again.
 
Whilst I have no doubt the Chinese have some heavy influence over NK I am pretty certain that the power structure in NK is not completely known. There seems to be quite a few people in unchallenged positions of power that should be able to rationally calculate that such an action is not a good path to go down. However, I am not certain everybody is all that rational in their leadership structure. You only have to look at Mao's interventions in Korea and Vietnam to see that paranoid leadership, that has little respect for human life, can make some quite shocking decisions. Hopefully history won't repeat itself in that region. Of course the other angle is that China is pulling the strings all along to suit their agenda but somehow I don't think that is the case.
 
I do think this is quite interesting. NK sinking a ship does seem rather serious, even for NK, it is definitely an act of war. But they have Nukes and China bum them. Grrr Otherwise we should destroy them.

I really think something should come of this, we can't just let them kill people. But it won't because China are ****ers and they have nukes.

This is why we need to sort out the Middle East. If those even bigger nutters get them it could be the end of us all.
 
This just proves that the world is not a safe place and * will hit the fan eventually.

Then we go and say we can barely afford an Armed Forces. Every decade more or less has some sort of conflict that happens or brews up...

What trouble will this decade bring? Obviously the 00s have brought us that very constly and expensive Afghanistan and Iraq. What is the bank balance for the next war?

Doubt China want anything to kick off with the US as aren't they both financially invested in one another so it would be crippling business on both sides?
 
look, there will never be a world war aslong as david beckham is around. we just send him in to smooth things over and the nuclear warheads dissapear back underground

there is only so much bluffing NK can do.
im thinking that NK will be prevoked into an attack which will then cause all hell to break loose
