I think matthewhotdude is just highlighting how the "you just haven't found the right woman" or "try a girl" argument is flawed, as reversing it is often met with disgust and contempt. Most people are quite aware of their sexuality by their late teens/early twenties, and trying to change it is probably not going to work.

No he's just saying people are being stupid. If you think gay people should try women to be sure they are really gay then the logical conclusion would be for straight people to try the same sex just to be sure. Which is silly.

Anyway, some people are gay, some are straight. Woop de doo, who really cares that much who's worth listening too anyway?

Of course, again, a fine line to draw. True that in this situation, one remark is no less distasteful than the other, but I wouldn't go into the random pics thread and post a couple of sailors getting busy because it's not what the community as a whole want. Doesn't make it a prejudiced community (though there are more than a few members around here I wouldn't micturate on if they were on fire), it's just not appropriate to the setting.

I think a lot of people mistake people being descriptive and people being racist. They are quite different.

If you are a particularly unpleasant person and a fat guy in a BMW cuts you up on a roundabout, you might call him a fat **** or a BMW driving ****.

Are you discriminating against him because he is fat or because he drives a BMW? No - you are being descriptive. Pretty rude, as well, but you are describing him as part of your insult.

Going on what the majority think is a terrible idea a lot of the time, the majority of people agreed with slavery and the majority of people once thought a man in the sky controlled the universe. Posting pictures of sailors getting busy would not be acceptable here because its against the rules to post porn, and rightly so, its a child friendly forum.

Posting a picture of two girls kissing im guessing would be fine going by what gets allowed in the gif thread so I doubt the mods would have a problem with a picture of two dudes kissing either.

i used to believe it was a choice and for some it still may be, but ive seen a kid since he was 10 and in the back of my mind even then i thought yeah he will swing that way. now he is about 17 and acts pretty camp (hopefully not an offensive word).
now in my mind it doesn't seem a natural thing and i'm also the type of guy who changes the channel if i thought 2 guys were going to kiss on t.v but looking at that kid i always knew he was going to be different in that way.
i think some of us need to come to terms with it really that some really do not make a choice and are born that way. the kid i mentioned earlier in the post was always like that. i certainly don't hate gay people but i guess i've never really accepted the ' i was born this way ' reason even though the evidence was right infront of my face.
