Lucky escape from a speeding ticket

I've just had a quick search & found that your running a C2S at +400bhp, I assume thats why the clutch finally gave in, how many miles had it covered with those ponies?
And good man for dodging a fine!

I managed to get 39k out of it! 25k at that horsepower.

500 dollars for a ticket, the only up side to that Ive heard is some forces are entirely funded by speeding drivers thereby requiring nothing like a council tax we have.

Is it 500 dollars for the pizza delivery kid on his moped doing 35mph too. That'd be harsh

I see you completely missed the point there. For one, I don't get to live like I do by burning or throwing my money down the drain, secondly, I'd just spent $4k getting my clutch done which was a rather unexpected and untimely expense given that I'd just that week, bought another house! I don't know what it's like in the UK right now but to buy a house over here at the moment, you need massive down payments, ~50% of the house.

So buying new/nearly new isn't throwing money down the drain then:rolleyes:
what depreciation are you taking across your kit, $1000 plus each month, and as for your money, think you meant to say parents money:D if you come onto a forum where most people have £500 or less per month to spend on motoring then your gonna get flack for bragging needlessly.

What a cheery chap you are :p

Nobody here gives him flack.

Bloody hell, where did that come from. He's on here talking about missing a speeding ticket and cars.

Well, since you were so kind to reply, I'll dignify it with a response.

I'm with you on the first point, buying new does cost me a lot in depreciation, but then isn't that MY choice not yours? I'm sure given the right circumstances, most of you would buy new or nearly new too, it's just sometimes it's not the most sensible option. My 911 has kinda plateaued anyway in terms of depreciation, the worst is over for me and I'll be keeping this one for a little while yet. Lastly on this point, most of the cars that both myself and my Dad sell on, we get within ~500-1000 of what we paid anyway, that's not bad really is it when you're talking about those kind of cars.

Secondly, I've been around these forums for a very long time, in fact I started my career here, at OcUK. I post up here with the cars/toys because I have a lot of friends here that I know love to see these kinds of things.

Finally, my parents are wealthy, yes. However, you're incredible naive if you think they pay for my life. I will openly admit that they gave me a great head start and that I owe a great deal of my success to their generosity and upbringing. As for "needlessly bragging" as you so eloquently put it, I'm proud of what I've done and the things I own; most people on here like to share in that. Moreover, I keep company with some of the wealthiest people in the US, some of which are multimillionaires that are only just coming up on 22! Do you think I complain at them for flying their private jets or having 10 Ferrari's at once? I'll leave that one up to you. Just so you don't take that the wrong way, I actually don't judge people on social standing at all, in fact some of my best friends barely have two pennies to rub together.

werent you the drug dealer guy that got busted?

No, not quite sure how I get tarred with that brush either, I made my money in computer businesses and as a professional pilot. I'm now working towards becoming an ER surgeon or radiologist, so I guess I do have my hands on some drugs.

Think it was dodgy real estate deals.

No, my Dad was the chairman for the UK's top luxury housing development company, nothing dodgy here, sorry to disappoint you :)

Correct, we don't pay council tax so to speak but state laws dictate various taxes on property, including cars. Back in CA my 911 cost almost $1000 a year just to tax :o , FL however, there is just a flat fee for your license plate each year.

hmmmm, professional pilot now suddenly moving into ER, you planning on starring as leonardo Di Caprio in Catch me if you can 2 eh:rolleyes:

What are you trying to achieve by giving him all this stick? Of all the threads iceman's made in the past, you're the only person I've seen give him any grief before, why not just be thankfull that he takes the time to share his cars with us ?

I think the guy who got busted as a dealer had two aliases, one of which was also Iceman, can see where people get this idea from but just 10mins searching shows you definitely aren't the same person :p
