Lucky escape from a speeding ticket

Out of interest, what do YOU do?

Sits on his lazy arse trolling the forums out of pure jealousy because Dave aka ICEMAN has done very well for himself...whereas poor likkle firefliesuk sits there feeling sorry for himself.

Poor firefliesuk, it must suck to have to get into an old Mk2 Mondeo every day whilst people like Iceman own a Porsche.

I bet it eats him inside.

Perhaps its the regret that he never made anything of his life which is getting to him and lashing out at those who are more succesful than him is his way of dealing with it?

I think the guy who got busted as a dealer had two aliases, one of which was also Iceman, can see where people get this idea from but just 10mins searching shows you definitely aren't the same person :p

Wish I'd have known that, I thought his Smack was pricey.

That smack is just so 70s, its the crack or nothing man.

I think I gave away my total lack of 'street' there didn't I. I wouldn't know drugs if they were pointed out to me by Dave Drugs of 15 Drugs Road, Drugsville. Never touched the things, not once, so I don't fit in wiv d yoof of today.:(

Its not a generation thing. I've been around drugs most of my youth but never felt the need to take them. I've never smoked or taken any illegal substances. I know they can give you a high, but i'm just not interested.

No, not quite sure how I get tarred with that brush either, I made my money in computer businesses and as a professional pilot. I'm now working towards becoming an ER surgeon or radiologist, so I guess I do have my hands on some drugs.

there was a guy on a bunch of car forums called "icemanbops" that used to brag about all of his expensive cars.

he got busted for beeing some cocaine drugs baron lol

Why would we give him flack simply because he's more succesful than us

I only see flack from you and doofer.

I agree with Fox, and its his own money, he can do what he wants with it.

Back to the point, lucky guy:D

Iceman I am really curious about how you became a professional pilot and soon a surgeon, not being sarcastic. Looks like you are a busy man, you deserved it.

Nice escape!

Sounds like a decent copper to me, I'd be very surprised if he had actually ran out.... I guess we'll never know.
Regardless, your lucky night. :)

Nobody here gives him flack.

I hate that its Flak!

Flak refers to anti-aircraft gunfire, and is commonly used as a term for somebody "taking abuse" - itself a term often used by aircrew when taking fire - it stems from World War II from the German Flugabwehrkanone, "aircraft defence cannon".

(Confirming to std motors forum decorum & giving Fox a bit of Flak) ;):p:D

I wasn't intending to give anyone flak, the OP says in his last paragraph 'It is ironic though...' I was just replying to that pointing out that I thought that it was more ironic the fact that Super Cars = Not cheap, Gated Communities = Not cheap, compared to those..a $500 Fine = Cheap. I can see how I was misunderstood though :)

I keep company with some of the wealthiest people in the US, some of which are multimillionaires that are only just coming up on 22! Do you think I complain at them for flying their private jets or having 10 Ferrari's at once?

I'm jelous, can I come up for a pint next time I visit US? I wish I had those kinda friends sometimes too haha.

Either way, don't worry about this troll, just ignore him seriously.

And dammit you got lucky with that ticket !

Takes a man to admit a mistake so thank you for that. I do understand where you're coming from, and yes, it could be seen as somewhat ironic but see my below quote for further clarification!

£500 is a lot of money regardless of your bank balance.

You hit the nail square on the head, that's exactly what I'm saying. I wouldn't mind spending $500 on something tangible but on a ticket that says I did something bad? No thanks.

To be honest I've always had two major things I've enjoyed doing, the first was flying and the second was biology or biochemistry. If I'm frank, at 18 I was earning way too much money to be bothered about looking for a more stable career like medical sciences, and perhaps more importantly, I had lousy careers advice about it too!

I became a pilot after I was done with my computer businesses, moved to the US and then along came the recession, pretty much crippling the industry and making it rather nonviable to sustain the lifestyle I want and aspire to. Coupled with the fact that in aviation, you don't get promoted on skill, you get promoted because the guy ahead of you retired or died or that you happen to have more hours than the other guy in line; it wasn't for me.

I've always loved medical sciences and now I feel I'm mature enough to go through with this 5+ years of education to get me where I need to be. I have a very supportive wife who works very hard on our two companies as well, allowing me the time to secure our future very nicely. I thrive on pressure and stress, flying was too boring for me, hence why I took place in aerobatic competitions. With that in mind, ER surgery has the fast paced, high stress environment I'm looking for, I get to be the final line of defense before the pearly gates, to me, that's quite an honour.
