hi im building a new pc and im completely confused about what to get i want to be able to handle crysis 2 no problem but im torn from these 3 i know getting 2 gtx 480 would be the best option for performance but i have not got the money for that what are your experiences and opinions plz let me know thanks:)

Maybe you should wait for the ATI refresh due out before crysis 2, otherwise a 5970 should play crysis 2 maxed out, IMO the game does not look demanding at all.

i know it does'nt realy look it but crytek said its going to live up to its name as the gpu killer i saw it in one of there vids. what out of these three would be the best performance though

ATI refresh 4th quarter this year. Yeah GPU killer, otherwise meaning a badly optimized POS like the first two, as said a 5970 will do the job, more so if you clock it, and 470 SLI can be had for about £470 and that would be my choice but keep in mind higher temps and power usage associated with 470 SLI.

there is no way you'll need 470 sli or 5870 CF to play C2, I'm going to guess you'll be able to play it on a 460 although I still might be wrong so get a single 470 and then if that's not good enough get another

Surely one 5870, will be able to play crysis 2 at decent settings with decent fps?

Im thinking of getting a 5870 my self rather than wait for the refresh.

Im convincing my self that I should take advantage of the cheaper prices, becuase when the 6870 is out thats gona be over £300 anyway, then again, wating gives me options....

Hence why Im stalling on purchasing the 5870.

I waited it out for Fermi, but Fermi, is either too expensive (GTX 480) or far too hot and loud comapred to the competition (GTX 470 vs 5870)

Crysis is an nvidia TWIMTBP game so although 470 and 5870 perform fairly similarly in benchmarks, the 470 should outperform the 5870 in that Crysis simply because it will be optimised for nvidia cards.

What resolution are u using? Under 1080p may not need sli or xfire - buy one card and wait to see if u need extra power.

Crysis 2 however isn't a TWIMTBP game

^ don't trust xbit labs

only respectable review sites are Anandtech, H exus (minus the space between H and e), Guru3D and sometimes HardOCP

I'm not 100% convinced that Guru3d is all that accurate either... Do seem to be in nvidia's pocket. Having said that, their methodology is always good, and they are thorough in testing.
