Hi guys,

Bit of a random thread maybe but judging from the other post about hitting a transvestite...anything goes!

I'm basically looking for a pressure washer just to use on our cars at home really, I don't need anything fancy just something with a decent amount of power and relatively cheap.

I seen a couple on Argos for around the £50 mark which was 110bar I think. There was also a Kracher (?) one on tesco for about £35 but it had mixed reviews.

Any ideas?

Cheers

Nilfisk^

I bought mine (110bar) for £40 when The Range had them on offer based on Detailing World recommendations and it's excellent. It's very high quality compared to anything else for £100~ (the lance and extension are solid for starters, no bending at all unlike Karcher lances) out there inc Karcher ones and is consistently powerful.

For washing a car?

You do realise you use a washmit and shampoo as normal right? The pressure washer just replaces the hose because it's far better at rinsing and blasting off dirt and getting diirt out of nooks and arches etc.

And sponges mar and web paintwork over time.

Iv'e been doing the cars we have like that every 1-2 weeks for the past 2 years, no problems so far.

And yes I know, the important bit was the elbow grease - the pressure washer I had (maybe it was a crap one) took longer than just scrubbing the dirt off, even in arches etc.

Sounds like the nifislk one is the one to go for then, I thought it looked like a good deal when I found it.

Aye, it's mainly for my alloys really and blasting the dirt off that's around the inside of the wheel. It's quite hard to get your hands in there :)

Looks like I might be making a purchase on that then.

Cheers guys :)

The problem is only apparent when you look at the paint in sunlight.

don't ask me about these... every single on I have ever owned has broken after 2 / 3times i've used them. they simply stop working! grrrrrr

Perhaps if you bought a recommended brand and model instead of Halfords specials that wouldn't happen but I imagine 2/3 times = breaking is somewhat of an exaggeration for effect.
