why do some players shoot right at the start of a map? is it for some glitch?

Its called spawn killing, You can see the opposite teams spawn when you spawn, On maps like High rise!

Sometimes caused by alt-tabbing as well. Happens to me all the time in BC2

Always happens in Highrise, best bet is to just go around and get them while they are at it. If you move fast enough there are occasions where you can get much of the opposite team.

theres also a trick called spawn tubing.

On some maps like wasteland, derail etc.. if you line up at a certain spot and fire straight into the air you can drop the m203 grenade launcher grenades right on their spawn, killing anybody taking the first flag on domination.

Doesnt work so well on TDM as obviously everybody moves straight away.

i got a throwing knife kill doing this on the scrapyard on a domination game.

i spawned behinded C and thought i would toss a knife towards A and bingo

the messages i got after it from the dude i killed where crazy calling me everything under the sun.

good moment but

It's probably one of those weird things people do. Did anybody used to play CS? People swapping weapons backwards and forwards quickly used to drive me nuts! They weren't doing it for any reason other than boredom/habit whilst they were camping.

I guess it's their way of "taunting". I bet a majority of them talk trash in the lobby too.
