Justice done?

"The CPS really need to buck up their ideas because people are getting away with murder. My father died. It's a disgrace"

pretty much says it all, and the police 'claim' they are doing something about this sort of behaviour, theyv just printed a license to kill for those wannabe gang members out there.

Its an incredulous pair of sentences. To kill someone, take their life, in front of their 3 year old granddaughter and to end up with those kind of sentences. Well....the mind boggles. I dont know what kind of message that sends out, but its certainly not a message of being held accountable for your actions. On top of that, both individuals had a string of previous attacks and one of them had a previous assault on his record.
 
Horrible, should get a longer sentence

sorta reminds me of an article a read a year ago where a man was stabbed in the neck infront if his daughter, then taken to the hospital and died where his wife had given birth that morning.
A small article placed next to a larger article about Paris Hilton going to a club :mad:
 
I do wonder what kind of justice system we’re ending up with. It’s turning into an injustice system, one where punishments don’t fit the crime.
 
I'd be quite happy to dangle these 2 from the neck from the nearest tree/lamp post, for as long as is required really.

Its a sad, sad day when the single most serious crime you can commit, only elicits a 4 year sentence in jail. 3 years, maybe less for good behaviour. (Although that sounds unlikely going off his previous)

I'd gladly pay more tax to make sure every murderer served an absolute minimum of 20 years in jail.
 
Seems like a perfectly reasonable sentence to me, given their ages.

A few years in secure care away from the influences that lead to them acting like that, at such a critical point in their lives has every chance of making them properly productive members of society. any longer would ruin those chances, and cost society in the long run.

Since when did the Police hand out sentences, the Police duly investigate the crime and the offenders were successfully prosecuted.

Now whether the sentence handed down by the judge was adequate is nothing to do with the Police.
 
Well let's wait until all the facts in before we pass judgment on these lads. Doesn't look like they meant to kill him, they were just having a laugh. Boys will be boys. I'm sure we've all done silly stuff like that when we were kids. Is it really fair to ruin two boys lifes because of a freak accident from this old man having dodgy health?

I dont think age should come into it, they have a previous record of several attacks including assault, so its not like this is the first offense, they killed someone, took away that persons life and in front of a 3 year old. The punishment should fit the crime, not fit the age. You kill someone and get 3 years for it? Thats simply laughable.
 
Just a crazy sentence, 3 and a half years for killing someone, maybe they didn't intend to kill him, but they sure intended to hurt him, which almost as bad.

Not to mention doing it in front of his grand daughter, and the fact that they hit an old man!!

Just having a laugh doesn't excuse terrorizing the local populace and killing one of them. His grandkids will be traumatized by it for the rest of their lives too.
