Las Vegas for 3-4 Nights?

Hi,

Two of my friends are having a joint stag doo next year and they are both talking about going to Vegas for 3 or 4 nights.

I have tried telling them that the duration of the holiday is far too short, as you would spend 11 hours on a plane, and be majorly jet lagged making the first two nights a write off.

For some reason which they havent explained, they are against going for a whole week (the only holidays we have been together are weekend things). I have been to Orlando around 10 years ago, and two weeks wasnt enough to see everything there, and theres suppose to be even more to see and do in Vegas.

Would going to Vegas for 3-4 nights be a waste of time? I would really like to go, but I would prefer to do it properly than messing around.

If the stags are too stubbon to change it from 3-4 nights to a week, would you think its out of order for me to decline going? I know its a bit out of order as its their stag doo, but I dont want to be spending £600+ on a holiday spending it in the hotel sleeping.

Its about gambling, alcohol, sex and not a lot else.

You can easily see all vegas has to offer in 4 nights.
 
We went to Vegas for a Stag Do for 3 nights/4 days earlier on this year.

Did I see everything I wanted to? No, but then on a Stag Do that’s going to be hard anyway, was it worth it? Massively! Had a fabulous time and would defiantly go again. We didn't really feel the Jet lag, on the first night we were awake for about 36hours and slept around 10hours over the 3 nights in total, didn't feel brilliant after that but it was good fun.

I would however, if it's only 3-4 days stay out myself for another 3 days and see the other stuff I'd want to on my own (or with anyone else who fancies staying out a bit longer) Just because they are going for only 3/4 nights does not mean you have to.
 
exactly :D its totally what Vegas is about.

yes you can walk around and see the sights, but vegas is a small city in the middle of the desert, you can see all the strip has to offer in a day. Maybe one other day to do the grand canyon if you wish.

Thats about it.

Its why vegas is the drunken wedding capital of the US. Its party city and why films like "what happens in vegas "exist.

Go watch fear and loathing in las vegas if you havent seen it, and "what happens in vegas" too. Its not a cultural weekend sort of city :D

To be honest that statement totally undersells Vegas .

If you want Vegas can be that but there is much much more to it nowadays.

I have been for 4 nights on a stag/birthday trip, and I am going again in November this year. 4 Nights is fine for gambling, booze, some ladies and firing a few rounds off in the local gun shops.

However, if you wanted to stay for a week or more with the missus you too could fill your time easily. Great Hotels (Spas, pools etc), Grand Canyon visit, Showtime galore and much more

Either way you will have a great time :)
 
I wouldn't spend £400 ish on flights and then 11hrs in the air each way for an alcohol enduced daze, I'm simply not that rich or masocistic. 3-4 days is enough time for Vegas itself but there is plenty to do around Vegas and plenty to do in Vegas that isn't standard stag do activities! Do as other have said fly out with the gang then stay on to see the sights when they go home, I'm sure you can find at least one like minded soul.
 
Going for 8 nights this year, just to have a nice break from work, and because we like the place :)

Shortest stay was 5 nights when we got married, wasn't long enough in Vegas really as time was taken up with wedding stuff (although not too much as it was only us 2, no family etc).
 
vegas sux and is overhyped, unless gambling and hookers is your thing. but then i think South East Asia is more fun. that said i love the west (east of the rockeis) it's great for a memorable road trip and some amazing places to visit, but that is 1 month minimum. Vegas isn't worth stopping for more than a weekend, personally I won't ever go there again

if you want booze and and sex, go to the med, nicer to have beaches to cure the hangover, and you won't waste time with flights

Going for 6 nights in August cant wait. Can understand why it might not be everyones cup of tea. What kinda budget should be ok for 6 nights? Cant really decide what to take. Also is it good for sports gambling aside from teh slots and casino games?
 
If you're going on a stag do I'd recommend eating at Dick's Last Resort, should end up being a fun meal :D
