ViewSonic VP2365wb 23" IPS vs Samsung XL2370 23" LED?

well those are both very different screens. on the one hand, the Samsung is a TN Film based model, so will not really be suited to colour critical work and photo use. the viewing angles are restrictive from that technology. The response time should be good however, although i've not personally tested that model. The Viewsonic VP2365wb is an e-IPS based model, so a very good all round performer. More suited for photo use certainly, although not as good for gaming. There's a full review of the VP2365wb here:

The XL2370 is a brilliant panel for gaming, but as Baddass has stated the ViewSonic would be more suited to colour-critical work. I would recommend you read the TFT Central review posted above and also read our review of the XL2370. This should give you a good idea of what to expect from both panels.

OCUK used to cell these monitors NEC MultiSync EA231WMi, 23 inch E-IPS. There are many positive reviews around the web.

I got hold of one and it's a superb monitor, I use it for gaming, photography and watching tv and movies and it has been far the best purchase I have made for my pc over the past 2 months.

If you can find one get one you wont be dissapointed.

and pretty similar to the VP2365wb as well :)

Yup it is allegedly the same panel, however the nec allegedly has implemeted it better (though I have never seen used the viewsonic to make the comparison).

it's definitely the same LG.Display LM230WF2 panel. in what way have you heard NEC have "implemented it better"?

Well, it's not crytical or professional color phot work.

It's just view and retouch personal DSLR photos.

I've been doing it with a 6-year old TN monitor so...

The reviews say that the XL2370 is very accurate in colors, right?

ive not used the XL2370 myself, but although you might be able to attain accurate colours, the viewing angle restrictions of TN Film could still present issues in terms of observed colours, contrast and colour tone shift etc. If you are ok on your current TN Film, then you should be fine on a new TN model of course :)
